Expensive
Vitamin D is important for healthy bones, teeth and muscle, and is also recommended to boost the immune system. The UK NHS RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of vitamin D for adults is 10 micrograms (μg) – NB NOT milligrams, which are thousand times larger - or 400 International Units (IU); it also advises adults not to take more than 100μg (4000 IU) as this can be harmful to you; long term overdosing can cause damage to the bones, heart and kidneys.Vitamin D3 is commonly regarded as the most beneficial form (along with sunlight derived D2), so you're on good ground with these; in natural diets D3 is only derived from animal products so seeking out a vegetarian supplement is a good idea for those following that diet. These tablets are vegetarian. These tablets hit that 10μg (400 IU) target dead on, so that's a perfect dose.In value for money terms, this 10μg dose will cost you 17p per day. There is much cheaper on Amazon - a quick trawl shows other 10μg tablets at 8p, 8p, 6p and 4p, with the latter also vegetarian. Overall, you could save nearly £50 a year with the latter. So: a good dose but shop around.

Great Vitamin D tablets
Pro D3 is a good quality brand made in the UK. I've tried their Vitamin D capsules before and I think they work really well. This is the new tablet version of the vitamin D supplement, and actually I much prefer it. You take one a day, . The tablets come in a card box (2 blister pack inside, and instructions) and are small and round - they're easy to swallow, and these are also great if you are follow a particular diet ( for example Vegetarian, Halal, Kosher) of if you have allergies as they are " Alcohol Free, Crustacean Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free, Gelatine Free, Gluten Free, Lactose Free, Milk Free, Nut Free, Peanut Free, PEG Free, Salt Free, Titanium Dioxide Free, Wheat Free, and Yeast Free".There are 30 days worth for £4.99 which is good in my opinion - it might not be the cheapest vitamin D tablets you can get, but it's spot on for this brand and I think worth it for the quality. I react to some of the filler ingredients in other supplements but these ones are fine for me, and I'm happy to recommend them.

Easy to swallow Vitamin D tablet
I have been taking vitamin D supplements for a while due to the possible health benefits that you may wish to research. Many come in the form of capsules containing the vitamin in olive or other oil. Instead, these come in the form of a small yellow table that is about 9mm in diameter and smaller than the size of a typical aspirin and also much smaller than the capsule type. I know some people have problems swallowing tablets and so due to their small size these might be a good choice if you are after a vitamin D supplement. Honestly, you can get much cheaper vitamin D3 tablets than these, however these claim to be Gelatine Free, Lactose Free, Dairy Free, PEG Free, Salt Free, Yeast Free, Titanium Oxide Free and Nut Free so these could be a good option if those factors are important to you. The packaging states that these give you 200% of the recommended daily dosage. Again you may wish to research this on line.

Easy to swallow
These vitamin D3 supplements are in 400iu tablets, which the box informs me provides 200% of the NVR for the vitamin. The recommendation in the leaftlet that comes with the box is to take 1 tablet daily with water (without chewing the tablet), after food for maximum absorption. The tablets are relatively small, so not difficult to swallow. It's easy to pop them out of their blister packs. And I'm glad to see that these tablets are advertised as being gelatine free, lactose free and peanut free, as I am lactose intolerant.
