GCS Handmade G10 Handle D2 Tool Steel Tactical Hunting Knife with leather sheath Full tang blade designed for Hunting & EDC GCS 202

I bought two knives from GCS to evaluate. This was one of them. This was bought to be used for bushcraft. Just like the other knife, this needed to be sharpened out of the box. You have to be pretty meticulous and pay attention when sharpening D2 steel.The knife did every task I put it through after I put a good edge on it. It batoned well, cuts rope and cordage nicely, and carves great for the heft of the knife. This think also make showers of sparks from a ferro rod right out of the box! The spine is almost as sharp as the blade was at first.The sheath is fantastic.Are there better options for this price point? Yes. But this knife and a sturdy folder make a pretty good combination.EDIT:After now using this knife since early December, I still feel the knife is decent enough. But I take back about the sheath being great. The other day while taking the knife out of the sheath the retaining rivets both popped off. Turns out they are made of a very flimsy aluminum. I can fit the problem with a couple screws but I shouldn't have too with it only being a few months old. Buy a Condor Bushlore or Mora Kansbul if you want the most bang for your buck.

I gave this a 5 star but with a slight hesitation. ONLY because the blade comes out of the sheath even the button tab secured. Either wrong sheath or not measured correctly. BUT.... the blade itself is EXCELLENT!!! The fit n finish very well made on the bone handle, blade very smooth and sharp! I did not see or feel any blemishes at All! Love the bone handles and long blade. The sheath also very nice and even has a small tab where u can store a small sharpening rod. ONLY if the closure secured my blade, if i use horizontal carry, the blade will fall out. But yet, still I rate a 5 star. See for yourself.

The picture says it all. No pry marks and only mistake was throwing it at a tree while camping.

Knife very nice quality when it came to the leather sheath shoddy craftsmanship rivets were rusted snapped and broken off didn't even get a chance to wear it broke right out of the package

Knife came sharp, wrapped in plastic with mineral oil. Sheath fits perfectly and well made from a thick hyde! Overall you can't beat it for the price!
