Stunningly Good!
I don't normally write reviews, but after recieving this TV a few days ago, I felt compelled to.I have used various display technologies over the years. CRT displays, LED panels, OLED but this is my first ever experience of MiniLED and I've got the say, I'm blown away. I had to keep googling the model number of this TV to make sure that amazon hadn't sent me an OLED model by mistake (which they hadn't), the black levels are incredible. Picture quality is crisp and clear. Minimal bezels. 144hz for gaming. It's the best TV I've owned. I cannot speak more highly of this Tele and those on the fence should take the plunge. If there's any gripe I have, is the OS. It's responsive, quick and has everything I need, but not Google TV so cannot use Google assistant. This also means using the voice control on the remote is not as functional as other TV's I've tried in the past.I would pair this TV with the govee TV backlights and bask in the movie watching experience.

Top-Notch Viewing Experience
This Hisense 55" Mini-LED TV has totally transformed my home entertainment setup. The picture quality with Quantum Dot Colour and Dolby Vision IQ is stunning, and the sound with the built-in subwoofer is surprisingly powerful. It’s perfect for movie nights with its iMax Enhanced feature. Plus, streaming apps like Netflix and Disney+ are super easy to access through Vidaa OS. A great all-around TV!P.S.: Amazed at the fact that I can control it with my phone!

Almost perfect!
UpsidesLove the mini-LED display, not OLED level of blacks but the right lights and darks for an average living room. Transitioning from a high end Samsung QLED from 2018. I've dialled in the settings I'm happy with, removing as much of the motion blur or processing as possible.Vidaa OS is super quick and responsive, apps load quickly and navigation is easy to manage, controller is solid with subtly backlit keys in the dark and a solar panel with USB C charging, mine has just run low on battery after 2 months out the box so I will have to make used of the wired charging. The ability to control other devices through CEC is great, most TVs will have this but having returned the new Amazon Mini LED for a display fault, that had CEC that didn't work nearly as well.DownsidesIt's a real shame that most sets now have ads or promote subscription services I don't have or want. If I didn't have most I think I'd find it more annoying, but feels like a downgrade in that department on my 2018 TV where ads were far more subtle. I'd intended to use a wired aerial connection because my internet isn't always stable enough for TV streaming on Freely, but it seems really buggy to try and use the aerial, struggling a little with downloading the EPG. Freely has been great though other than not offering reminders, I expect that might come in a future update.Voice control isn't really worth the hassle, the kids kept setting it off, that said if you lose the remote you can ask it to find the it and the remote will beep and buzz, which is handy when the kids hide it (although it's pretty big to hide). The final slight pain was the inputs were all on the left side of the TV as you're looking at the screen. My media wall expects them on the other side so had to give some cables a good yank to reach. Not fair to dock any stars for that thought. On the whole my budget was sub £700 and I got the opportunity to test the Amazon Mini LED and this Hisense U7N and I'm pleased I ended up with the U7N. My other option was the TCL QM8 but I'd heard issues with some UK apps not being supported hence why I avoided. The downgrade to U6N didn't quite feel worth the price saving and the upgrade to the U8N didn't warrant to extra price tag, so I'm comfortable with this for now. If I could have justified an extra few hundred pounds I would have considered a bigger brand but my biggest frustration (adverts and promoted apps) would probably still exist. I'm actually really happy my budget made an OLED unaffordable because Mini-LED strikes up the right balance for my use case.

You often get what you pay for
Hisense 55U86KQTUK. (Received on 5th January). Often you do get what you pay for. My experience of this TV is not good, unfortunately, despite the positive reviews available from credible sources. Clearly I had a duff TV.It had a faulty satellite tuner: that kept wanting to rescan each time the TV was started up, EPG (programme guide) wouldn’t display any programme information which means no recordings could be made on the attached USB solid state drive, some settings randomly changed when turning the TV on again, (such as picture mode).I had been patiently trying all recommended solutions thinking that it was my fault that the TV wasn’t working as it should, (spending many many unproductive hours), such as; factory resets, ensuring that the satellite dish connection was securely embedded in the socket, (previous satellite TV had no problems), ensuring that the satellite signal was registering as strong, (it was).I found that the TV had a bewildering array of settings, especially for the picture, which meant getting it wrong was easier than getting it set up ‘right’. Other smart TVs that I have had didn’t have this issue.Anecdotally, looking at internet posts about the manufacturer Hisense, it appears that quality control seems to be an issue, as I have experienced. Consequently I needed a full refund to purchase another brand of TV, which I did.Amazon handled the returns process admirably. Despite the lengthy repackaging of the Hisense TV, (it’s quite heavy), Amazon collected it and issued the refund shortly afterwards. Excellent customer service from Amazon. Thanks.
