After much research I discovered my Tetras had mouth rot. It is a bacterial infection. This product was recommended by the local pet store's Aquatic Specialist. I checked the reviews on Amazon as well. Maracyn received 4 and 5 star reviews. This product was much cheaper on Amazon compared to the local pet store. Maracyn treats a broad spectrum of gram positive infections. This product comes in pre measured packs. Each pack treats 10 gallons. No measuring and no mess. No worry about over or under dosing your fish. You have to remove all chemical filters before treatment. Maracyn will make your water cloudy. This product also strips your bio filter of good bacteria. You have to use an ammonia reducer (like Prime) because ammonia levels can spike during treatment. Keep an eye on your water. Test your water during treatment. I feel these are minimal side effects to ensure healthy fish. After day 3 the mouth rot was gone. I will complete the 5 day treatment plan as directed. Day 6 you do a 25% water change. Use all new filter media, including chemical media. I use Seachem Stability and Seachem Prime to cycle my aquarium faster, and establish my bio filter. I am very pleased with the results of Maracyn. It treats a broad range of gram positive bacterial infections. This product is easy to use. It is effective. By buying Maracyn on Amazon you will save money. I would highly recommend this product.

This stuff worked amazingly for my fish. Stop the fin rot, my fish was experiencing after being moved to a new tank. I followed the directions, and it did make the water super cloudy the whole time. However, fret not; once you get to the end of the treatment, and do the 25% water change, the eater will clear after a day or two. My fish has since grown back its tail and lives happily within its tank. I recommend this product for sure.

Was very happy to get this,though we were disappointed that it took so long to get to us in Downeast Maine. We ended up losing a few fish before it arrived. Sometimes our shipments are delayed by a week or more,which normally wouldn't matter,but in this case it did. The product did however save our remaining fish and our snail Wendell didn't seem to suffer any ill affects from being in the tank with the treated fish. I would highly recommend ordering this before you have an actual problem so you have it on hand to start treatment immediately, unless you live in a more metropolitan area that gets deliveries within a day or two.

I use this as part of the meds trio when I get my new fish and quarantine them for 4 weeks. Great product!

Our goldfish of 3 years started bending at the side and getting lethargic. It was the first time this had ever happened and we lost 4 fish. We tried soaking their food before feeding, isolating the sick fish and giving them mushed peas to eat, changing the water, and then feeding them less frequently. Finally I read that it might be a bacterial disease so this was my last hope. It was super easy to use. We followed the instructions and dropped a pack of medicine in everyday for 7 days. We shut off our carbon filters during this time. The medicine overtime made our water look milky. After 7 days, we did a big clean to remove all the medicine water and clean out everything in the tank. Since then we’ve had 0 issues and my remaining fish are thriving and we’ve had minimal algae growth. Our mystery snails were the only ones who didn’t like it. After day 5, when the water was significantly murky, I noticed they climbed above the water and only went down once in a while.
