Men's Ironman Classic 42mm Watch - Black Strap Digital Dial Gray Case

It's a solid watch. I have one from this seller and love it. I have a re-issue from about 10 years ago, and an og from over 30 years ago. Newer ones have a few more features, and easier to read screens, while also being cheaper. It's hard to argue with their value. However, I personally find the new ones ugly and these OG's beautiful. Plus these are thinner so they do not catch on nearly as much as thicker watches. Could be better if timex combined the best of the old with the new.

This watch is fun for nostalgias sake, but if I’m going to be honest…the Ironman Shock is better in just about every way for me. Comparing the 2, the original definitely has a slimmer profile on the wrist. The shock is much easier to read, has a better and far more robust band (it feels 3x as thick compared to the original 1986) And the buttons on the shock are much bigger and much easier to push. For any practical purpose I’d stick with the Shock and keep this one just for the sake of it. After one day of wear the shock went back on my wrist and this one went to the shelf.

When I got it and put it on, I felt some kind of Positive Energy running through me. I finally have a watch that speaks of my character. No negative vibes here. Yipeee!

Almost everything about the watch I received seems right and solid. However, I did notice the screws on the back are not like screws I have ever seen on any watch and they stick up farther than anything I have seen. Other online reviews of this watch suggest the screws are supposed to be the small Phillips screw. This might be a face watch or at some point the screws came off and these were put on. either way, the screws on mine are almost certainly not correct and throws the whole watch into question. I do think this is good still and it seems to be the actual Timex Ironman... just the screws were swapped out for strange and tall triangle ones.

First of all, I don’t know why this watch should have any good reviews. The buttons are extremely hard to push the sound watch makes is very quiet. The light is very dim. This watch was not near worth the price I paid for it so please take my review and consideration and don’t buy this watch. It is nothing like the old ones. timex is just no good anymore

It looks smaller than picture. I bought it because it brought back fond memories of my childhood, and was surprised that it was smaller than I expected. Still, I'm satisfied.

They now sell a steel version of this watch in Japan for about $450 USD. It is this exact watch but not in plastic like this, which was the original design. It is a decent watch and especially great for nostalgic idiots like me for a very reasonable price.

Picked up the Timex Ironman 8-Lap OG TW5M543009J to relive some childhood nostalgia — I had one just like it back in elementary school. The retro vibes are awesome, the strap is super comfortable, and the backlight is cool and bright. I’ve become a bit of a watch nerd and collector in my adult life, and while this might be the cheapest watch in my collection, it still packs a punch! I have zero doubts about authenticity (unlike a few of the vague reviews here). Bought mine directly from Amazon (shipped and sold by Amazon) and the price was way better than ordering from Japan. Just a solid, classic Timex that still feels great to wear.
