This is the BEST scissors I ever had. I am an avid gardener and love to do gardening and always like to carry a pair of Snippers in my pocket. The problem is that all of the snippers including the one I have is quite bulky/heavy and they do not have a protective cover for the blades. So, I searched for a good quality, small size scissors or snippers with a blade cover. I could not find any (I am too picky and particular) with all of my requirements. Finally I happen to see this one from ZYLISS (ZYLISS name is associated with Fine quality products). It is extremely sharp and light weight. It even has a scalloped area to strip leaves from herbs like Rosemary, Thyme, etc. It has comfortable handle and it is so light weight that I don't even know that I have it in my pocket. Most importantly it has a smart blade Guard (the plastic guard will not come off as it slides over the rivet nice and tight. I am extremely happy with my purchase and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone with similar needs. Try it - you will like it.If I have any more comments I will update my review later on.NOTE TO MANUFACTURER: I would like to see the blades about 1" longer.

I did not want to spend too much on herb scissors - I also wanted scissors made primarily for herbs.Much of what I saw was multipurpose or if it was just for herbs it was 3 times the price .I also did not want the ones with the multilayered blades.These are light and easy- they work well but they arent a hazard like some of the super sharp ones seemed to be .I am also tired of dealing with unknown brands on Amazon .I try to limit my purchases on Amazon and it is best to go with a product you recognize like Zyliss .Herbs are last minute additions when I am cooking and being able to quickly snip dill or parsley is great.I hope the farmers market will have chives next week - it is my favorite herb and the reason I bought the scissors . Tired of chopping chives with a knife and having them fly out all over the kitchen- scissor is more controlled.I wish they weren't Made in China but they are useful unlike some other purchases I have made on Amazon.

I use these scissors to trim herbs and lettuce from my Aerogarden. They're super sharp, comfortable to use (even with my bad arthritis), and look nice enough to keep out next to the garden on my kitchen table. I get a clean cut every time, which is good for regrowth.

These are our garden cutters for greens and herbs. Also do cut flowers and soft stem pruning with them. Just bought a new pair as the first pruning scissors wore out after 10 or more years. There was no sense in searching for a different brand, as we loved the ZYLISS.

I have a pair of Fiskars small pruning shears I use for other plants. They're fantastic, but due to the tension spring, I find them an unwieldy tool for pruning my Aerogarden.So I purchased the Zyliss Herb Scissors exclusively for harvesting from my Aerogarden, and am pleased beyond expectations. They are extremely sharp and make quick work of cutting stems. They are small enough for very tiny spaces, and since they have no tension spring, I have complete control of my cuts. They're a fine tool for snipping small amounts of fresh herbs, but not the only tool I use. I may chop up herbs on a cutting board or in my blender, if I have large amounts.Where the inside edges of the handles meet, there are semi-circular cut-outs. If you need to strip leaves, place the stems between the handles, close the handles, and pull the stems. They work just like wire strippers!I can wash and dry them in seconds using liquid dish detergent and a microfiber towel. After months of use, I've not had any herb parts get stuck to or in the scissors, nor do they show any signs of corrosion or dulling. They come with a cap to protect the blades and your fingers. Keep them away from children; I cannot emphasize how sharp the blades are.By the way, I wash my hands before I touch my Aerogarden or any tools I use with it. If I touch anything else, I wash my hands again. The same with my tools for our safety. We eat the stuff from the Aerogarden, and take precautions to not infect it with nasty bacteria.And with all that washing, these scissors still look and perform like new. Well worth the investment!

These scissors are perfect for cutting herbs. They are sharp and well made. The small blade design makes it so easy to snip exactly which part of the herb I want. The finger hole for the thumb could be bigger. I have thin fingers for a guy and my thumb barely fits. All being said, I will be buying these again.

They don't really look like they are heavy duty, but they cut through some stems that my felco pruners were having trouble with.They are a joy to use. None of the scissor-losing, blade-dulling members of my household are allowed to TOUCH them.

A little bigger than I expected overall but the tip is small so they work great for cutting directly off the plant getting in tight spaces without cutting to much at one time...small enough to hone in on one branch & cut at base. The opening in the middle for striping herbs works good for more woody stems like rosemary but I would have liked a smaller hole option for thyme.

I buy these for the ladies I work with in a greenhouse....we trim a lot of plants and have found that the short sharp blades are the best for cleaning up potted plants
