Versatile set of colors. Easy to get an ombré effect without any skill.
The nail polish is come with a foil that’s difficult to remove. I had to use an orange stick and score around the inside to be able to lift it but nail polish was all over the other side of the foil so it was quite messy. If it came with a pull tab, it would’ve made the process a lot better. Each pot is small, but contains a lot of polish for what you end up using because of using a sponge to spread it out.I like that the lids have a number as well as a color to indicate what it is because if you’re using multiple colors at once, you could easily put the wrong lid on itThis kit is good for any level of experience with aura or ombré nails, because it’s really easy to be able to achieve those looks. I was using some tips for swatching to get familiar with the way the colors blended into each other. However, I would use use liquid latex around my fingers if I did this directly onto my nails. The technique that worked best for me was this.1. Rip or cut small sections from a sponge2. Tap the sponge into the paint to get a small amount.3. Tamp the sponge I to the lid to spread it out on the sponge and thin out the intensity.4. Apply the color onto the nail.Note: if doing an aura nail, I would start around the edges and bring it toward the center of the nail. Cure it. Then place other color in center and tap outward. Cure it. Repeat until blended effect is reached. If doing an ombre nail, I would start one color at the top and one color at the bottom, and bring them slightly toward each other in the middle. Cure between layers of additional color and keep using the sponge to blend over each other.I ordered the set called Beginning. There are so many combinations that you can make from these colors, depending if you want to do more of a fall, romantic, spring or summer look. I found that if I wanted to do some thing like an aura nail, and I wanted to make one color pop against the other, I would actually put a little bit of white on the base of the center of the nail and then cure that and add colors on top of it to make it stand out more. In my swatches, you’ll see that I was able to do stuff like that with the pinks. I have tried to do ombré nails, many many times, using brushes and other techniques with regular gel polish, and this was by far the easiest way that I’ve ever tried to do an ombré or an aura nail. The polish is really thick like pudding and kind of tacky like lip gloss so it Holds where you’re putting it. It will blend really nicely into the other colors and I definitely wouldn’t try to do an ombré nail with any other product after using this.

White only filled half way
For some reason my white jar, is half empty compared to the rest. The others are filled as they should be.

Such an interesting nail art kit
This GAOY Sponging Gel Nail Polish Set is such an interesting concept. I've only every sponged regular gel polish and I can definitely tell the difference when it comes to the consistency. This has a thicker, almost Acrylic paint type feel. It can get kind of messy if your not careful. I wish they were a bit more of a brighter set, but overall a nice kit

Pigmented
I wanted to start practicing a different way to do ombres. But you can definitely do more than just ombre. It’s really pigmented. The colors are definitely a hit. As a beginner, the amount is perfect to start out with.

Cool idea!
I’ve never tried sponging gel before and I absolutely love it! It’s super easy to work with and it spreads nice and evenly with the sponge. It does take a few layers to get a nice solid coat of color but it’s really nice if you’re trying to do ombré designs.

Wouldn't buy again
Your pretty much just getting nail polish with makeup sponges??! I thought it was gonna be different but that's exactly what it is. Don't waste your money on it.

Nice colors, messy process
I've seen videos where the nail tech uses a sponge to create cool looks on nails, like ombre, so I got this set thinking I could try it at home. The colors are great and the variety is nice. I like, too, that the set came with small wedge sponges. I painted a base color, like white, first and cured it. Then I sponged on the color from the set. It's a relatively easy step and the effect is okay - it takes some practice to determine how firmly the sponge should be pressed to obtain the desired look. Unfortunately, it seemed a little messy on my cuticles, and I had to clean up the over stamped color. While this isn't a huge deal, it's an extra step I prefer to not have. I could have used a peel off skin protector polish, but again, that's an extra step, and I am not sure if it can be cured under the light - I'll have to look more into that. The set is nice and does what it claims; it's just too much detail and time for my preference.
