This is some amazing coffee

This was a bit of a surprise. The quality/price ratio is very impressive indeed. The flavor profile is pretty much as described ("earthy, chocolate") with the cocoa predominating. It has nice acidity, while being rich and full-bodied---well balanced (as brewed in my Hario Switch). It reminds me a lot of a Costa Rica Tarrazu I used to be able to get from San Francisco Roasting Company on North Highland in Atlanta. If you like Central American coffees, you will certainly want to try this one. At this price it is a real bargain.

I recently ordered the Classic Roast from Santa Lucia Estate Coffee, and I am absolutely thrilled with this product! As a coffee enthusiast, I’ve tried hundreds of brands, but this one truly stands out. My experience was best-in-class from the start… My order arrived ahead of schedule (total time to delivery was just two days). Then, from the moment I opened the bag, I was greeted with a captivating aroma that promised a delicious cup of coffee. The Classic Roast (their lightest roast) delivered a full-flavored, medium-bodied coffee. The tasting notes were as advertised (bright, earthy, spicy and sweet chocolate tasting), which resulted in the perfect balance of complexity and smoothness. I drank my coffee hot/black, which really allowed me to appreciate the complete flavor profile. Furthermore, a standard serving size delivered just the right amount of caffeine kick to start my day on a high note. I was so pleased with the product and my experience that I reached out to Santa Lucia to say thank you. The representative, Marco, responded quickly and was very appreciative. He shared that the company is a family-owned business with a 30-year history. That makes sense because Santa Lucia’s dedication to their craft is evident in every aspect of their coffee. I so wanted to love this coffee, but I think it's just a little above average. I tried it a few times as espresso shots, but I couldn't get the grind right for some reason. I pull espresso shots almost daily, this coffee acts differently than all the other ones I've had. So, I thought I'd give it another try as drip coffee. It's not bad, it's not stale, but it's not exceptional. I'll try it a few more different ways to see if there is a coffee making method that makes this exceptional. So far, espresso and drip, this coffee is just ok.

Uneven roast, *many* broken small charred pieces, and presence of chaff in the bag. Even sorting out and removing all the small broken pieces before grinding results in a charcoal aftertaste. Will not buy again.

One of my favorite coffee of all times. It is smooth rich and super fresh. Smell incredible and roast was perfect. I will order this again and again.
