My hair and humid British weather do not get along and I resigned myself to having a frizzy mess every time I visit because I have burned up more US hair tools than I care to admit with other converters. I took a huge risk and brought my air wrap with this converter and it worked flawlessly. If I could add more stars I would! Highly recommend for my frizzy girls who are traveling!

So, for anybody used to step-up, step-down transformers that are usually massive and super heavy (2 of us in my family have had broken toes due to bumping into these suckers) these are a good reprieve.It is thicker than the picture makes you think and the front does not look like the picture on Amazon BUT it is much smaller than I am used to and much lighter (not going to break your toe...I don't think).Mind you, this is only a step-down transformer going from 220V-250V down to 120V. Look at any appliances you want to take when deciding if this one is for you...our hairdryer will not work in this one. (it is 1650W)The red one we got had something inside that was loose. Maybe just packaging because the orange one, same brand, didn't.It worked when I plugged in about 400 Watts but sounds like a printer continuously warming up.All in all, great piece to travel with.
