Every fan manufacturer has told me these will burn out the motor on their fans.
If your fan isn't manufactured to put a filter on you can't just add one. It will create drag on the motor and burn it out fan. Every company I contacted that makes fans told me the same thing. which was DO NOT use this on their fan.
