Megiu is Magic for Boondocking with a Power Station!
Where do I begin? I boondock several times a year in a micro camper, so space is at a premium. Boondocking means - bring your own water, power, shower, etc. It is NOT easy to get ice. No. That's not right. It is not REALISTIC to use ice without the assistance of technology. Enter the Megiu 19 qt 12v electric cooler. I tried it in central Florida in mid-July during a heat advisory. There's strict generator etiquette (off between 10pm-7am) where I was camped, so running a gas-powered generator isn't an option. So, I leaned on a 1200W portable power station that has roughly 618Wh. I went for three days off-grid and came back with all the "extra" stuff I took just in case it didn't work out - and it was still frozen. I vacuum seal and freeze meals, so they act an as added assist in cooling. I received the Megiu on Sunday afternoon. Plugged in the A/C charger and put 6 bottles of water in it. By Monday morning they were frozen. I took those out and put them in my "backup" cooler with ice packs. I then packed the Megiu with four frozen meals, 6 mini cans of soda, a bag of chicken and 3-4 bottles of water. I unplugged from AC, switched to 12V, loaded it in the car and drove 2 hours away. Upon arriving, I took it out of my tow vehicle and set it (unpowered) aside for about 1.5 hours as I socialized with my group and setup. I placed it ALWAYS in the shade and out of direct sunlight. After 1.5 hours, I plugged in to my power station. The temp by default is set to -18. Nothing thawed. So this cooler can hold a temp under reasonable conditions. I LIKE THAT! It drew 45W for about 10 minutes and then lowered down to 35 and remained there. I cycle the power by letting it run for 4 hours and then powering down for 2 hours, so I could get through the night. My power station turned off by 6:30am the following morning and the cooler sat unpowered for 2 hours while my solar panels charged the station. I ran into a technical challenge (a connector), so I charged up the station in my car rather than by solar. It is not advisable to try to charge a power station AND the Megiu at the same time in a car, so the Megiu stayed in the shade. The power station charged up and the cycle resumed. For fear of rain at night, I brought the cooler into my micro camper. I DID have to put a post-it note over the LED panel because I prefer to sleep in the dark, but it didn't heat up the cabin or make noise. In the morning, stuff was still frozen. The Megiu worked so good! I'm really impressed with being able to integrate both AC and DC (12V). I like that it can hold a temp (in reasonable conditions) - - it was a DAY of Florida heat advisory and humidity in mid-July and it didn't miss a beat! I like that the power consumption was reasonable for a COMPLETELY ICELESS SOLUTION - as long as you can recharge your power station. I did cycle the frozen water bottles out to the "backup" cooler and put warm waters in the cooler to freeze. At 618Wh, running 35W and hour, my power station could run this cooler without interruption for almost 17 HOURS. Increasing the capacity and performance of my power station extends that out even long, but so does intermittently powering it down. I have not attempted to change the temperature. I have not looked into an insulated cover. I have not tried it with other power stations or even had it long enough to use it in different conditions (like colder weather) - all of which might extend my power significantly. But it is light-weight, a fantastic value, and easy to use, so I'm going to sum this up - for how I use, it is an epic upgrade to my camping experience.

Great temperature range and convenient size. Pictures from the order screen don't do it justic.
This product was purchased primarily for my 'adventure mobile" for picnics and snacks for the grandies. We're in AZ so things heat up quickly. This product has always provided nicely cooled drinks and snacks with no fail. Last weekend I took it on a road trip to Vegas and packed it with adult beverages, cold shots and drinks to cool on the way up, they are a nice touch when you check into your room. I plugged in the unit to the wall power. Within a few hours, our seltzer drinks were frosty and a bit icy. I was not aware I had the setting at -20. Oops. Needless to say, this unit is exactly what I was looking for. I am very happy with it. It's got a great temperature range. The side compartment inside is nice to keep aside more delicate items from the other items. (ie: candy bars and snacks) Love the unit. Pleased with my purchase.

Absolute Game Changer
It was not long ago that I did not even know plug in coolers were a thing. I ordered this for a late summer 12 day road trip, and I am SO glad I did. I have since used it for two more road trips of varying length. I love the easy temperature control buttons and screen. I love how quiet it is. I love that there is no ice to melt and leak water. It is important to note that this cooler is heavier than a traditional cooler due to the compressor, this also means that the cooler useable space may seem lower because the compressor takes up space, but that space would be otherwise used for ice so it is a non issue for me. It is also pretty heavy, again because of the compressor. It is a cooler for road trips and car camping, not for the beach or camping where even light hiking is required. I love the light colors and its simple design. I love that there is a cable for in a house or in a car, allowing me to take the cooler inside when I arrive at a destination. There are a few things I would love to see changed. The screen stays on all the time when it is plugged in, I would love for that to turn off or dim after a few minutes. It would also be nice if the handles were more flush with the sides when not in use. But these are small things, it is a really great cooler just the way it is.

We got this as we do a lot of long road trips and camping in our mini van. Coolers just weren't cutting it. This works as an actual fridge or even as a freezer! I was struggling with bursitis in my hips on our last trip so I froze some water bottles to use as ice packs and it was perfect. It's pretty quiet too, unlike our previous electric cooler so doesn't bother us while we sleep.

I bought that fridge this year, used it while camping in my car. I love it, works great, very low noise. Efficient.

I love this little cooler, on the really hot (+27 C) days I’ve noticed that it seems to only get down to about -9 C. Still cold enough to keep your drinks/popsicles cold on those days. Otherwise it normally bounces between -14 C and -18 C.

When is hot in the car, it has a hard time cooling down to 10C. Otherwise it is a nice unit.
