Creocote Oil Based Wood Treatment 4L Dark (638229)

I have used Bartoline Creocote (mixed at 20 to 1 with Raw Linseed oil) for a number of years. Total of 35 off 6 x 6 fence panels 2 sheds 2 benches and driveway gates. Good stuff. This oil based product is incredible. Great coverage. Easy to apply with a 3inch brush. Very dark. Only 1 can so far as a try out. Will need another 10 at least. Expensive but seems worth it. Will watch how it weather's with our coastal climate. Highly recommended.

This is very dark, somehow my first batch was slighly lighter though was done 3-4 days earlier so may settle down, it is reminiscent of the old sote and somewhat pungent but in a nice way, it dries farily quickly, i'm pleased with the overall finish and would definitely buy again, I purchased 8 litres which covered both top and bottom gates and side fences which represents very good value.

Does the job but not what it was back in the day. Smells too much like refined old used engine oil, same consistency also. No doubt it protects the wood. I have used this brand a couple of times previously and this stuff is not the same.

It’s just like creosote,I bought a breathing mask to wear next time I use it it ,I have the dark creosote it looks lovely,and stops water soaking in to wood and is easy to apply ,I found breathing it in even though I was outside,it made me a bit ill ,but after a few days the creosote drys and you can’t smell it ,I bought some more to make the woodwork outside last longer ,I used Cuprinol ducks back on my daughters fence because she has a two year old and baby ,I use the creosolve in my own garden I love the way it immediately darkens the wood and water drops remain on the surface they don’t soak in
