Tontron Adult Kayaking Wakeboarding Waterskiing Whitewater Helmet

I purchased the helmet for white water kayaking. One of the dangers with kayaking is that when you flip the water can push a poorly fitting helmet up exposing your temples, if you then hit a rock bad things happen. There is at least one older youtube video of someone on the piranha team getting injured in this way. I did not think this helmet would have that issue as it has the ratcheting band on the back, but no matter what I did, it always would easily push up exposing my temples. possibly just a poor fit to my head size but I tried with a neoprene bene on and while a very snug fit and the neoprene provides good slip resistance, it still easily slid up over my temples. So while it looks cool and I've gotten compliments on that, I can't recommend the helmet.

Perfect helmet for me. Great fit and feels robust. I feel safer and more relaxed while wearing it on the water.Wish I had made this purchase earlier. Saved me from a few bumps on the head already. As for the phone pouch that comes with it.....let's just say that the helmet is of much better quality than the pouch....! Don't base your purchasing decision on the pouch. All in all, for me it was a very good deal for the money. Also looks more universal than the dedicated ski or bicycling or skateboard helmets and would be a good one to consider if looking at saving from having so many helmets.

Really happy with the helmet. I got this for wakeboarding behind a boat and I'm really glad I got it. I was a bit skeptical because it's less expensive than many big-name brands, but I'm not skeptical not anymore. I wanted a helmet with ear protection for hard falls when the side of my head hits the water first and it works great. Falling sideways or backwards is MUCH less painful which gives me a lot more confidence when trying tricks and jumps. The fit is good and the adjustable knob allows me to dial-in the fit. I really don't notice it all when I'm riding, but I'm very glad I have it on when I have a hard fall.

The media could not be loaded.  So far I've used it for jetsurfing, urban exploring, and skateboarding. Its lightweight and fits great without being too bulky. Video of a Jetsurf session with the helmet in the beginning.

This helmet looks good and it is well made except for the adjustable plastic headband. The rear headband looks like cheap, thin plastic, that will not last long. I’ve used it about 10 times and it’s held up so far. The adjustable headband also has sharp edges that dig into your ears! I had to sand down the sharp edges (molded seams) to make it comfortable. Kind of expected for a water sports helmet at this price though. They should modify the design to provide more ear clearance for 5 stars.

The Tontron had more adjustments than other helmets but did not fit as good. Be sure to buy the models that have free returns. It is important for your comfort and safety that you get the right fit. The Pro-tech Ace turned out to be a better fit for me. Both are quality brands.

Hard plastic tension straps around the ears hurt. They're designed to go behind the ear but they don't for me. Maybe the helmet is a little large for my head. I would like to notch and smooth out the plastic strap but afraid of damaging it or weakening it. Maybe I'll be able to pad it, wrap it with cloth, glue foam on it or plush duct tape.I can't return because already went kayaking with it and scratch it on a rock. Btw, the latches on the cell phone protector case are a joke. Latches fall off when unlatching and I lost them on the 2 day of use. Nice door prize though.

Liked the cool carbon fiber look. Fits and looks just like my other wakeboarding helmet...looks like formed from same mold. HOWEVER...if you have medium to large ears, this design might bother you. I had to leave my additional side ear pads out so it is wearable. Other than that the price is decent.

Tip top Helm zu diesem Preis, verwendet beim Kiten und Wakeboarden. Die Größe entspricht den Herstellerangaben. Etwas schade,dass die Ohrenschützer nur gesteckt sind aber das ist verkraftbar,deshalb ein Stern Abzug. In der Regel erfolgt die Befestigung per Druckknopf. Ein Helm mit dieser weichen Innenpolsterung findet man nur bei Protec zum deutlich höheren Preis. Wer einmal hart auf dem Wasser gestürzt ist, weiß das weiche Polster zu schätzen. Meiner Meinung nach sind die meisten Wassersporthelme ungeeignet,die verwendeten Schäume sind zu hart, sie eignen sich für Harte Gegenstände wie Beton, Asphalt oder Obstacles.

Très confortable pour le prix. Livraison rapide. Ajustement et grandeur parfaite en lien avec la chartre des grandeurs. Les oreillettes amovibles semblent se décoller un peu trop facilement cependant. Je suis inquiet de les perdre en eaux vives.

I am a hang glider pilot. Light weight and well padded protection is in first place. This helmet is light, fits well, no area of pressure on head, excellent vision and removable ear pads make it possible to fly in summer and winter.

This was purchased for my 8 son for wakesurfing.He said it fit comfortable. Bonus he can adjust the tightness himself.Size medium adult fit my son with 23 cm head circumference. With room to grow.
