Worked great for smelting gold and reducing other metals in gold. The crucibles seems really well made. I had no breaks while smelting. Make sure to heat the crucible up evenly so you don’t over heat to fast and crack your crucible. Crucible holding clams that come with it are very very nice to have.

Solid little set of crucibles. YOU HAVE TO "SEASON" THEM WITH BORAX before you use them. You will absolutely have your melting metal fuse to them without it. Once you due that, they work pretty well. The clamps aren't stellar and don't hold the crucibles the best. They torque to one side so try and use them before you are using heat to get used to them OR get a different set. The tiny ones are really small. The bigger ones allowed me to melt down approx 50g of silver by weight safely enough. Make sure you do your research before you play around with hot metal.

Well I received mine right on time but as like other reviewers have mentioned, one of the bowls was cracked into pieces. Thought I was a lucky one until opening the last bubble wrapped crucible. The tong holders seem to hold the crucible well and I didn't notice any irregularities with those but have yet to really heat them up. They did not come with any instructions as to seasoning them so guess You will have to figure that one out yourself depending on your specific planned use. I did bake mine in the oven for a while to drive out any potential moisture that may remain . So far not one has had any issue but they have yet to face the intense heat of molten metal. Only 3 stars because one was broke and they don't come with any seasoning or pre heating instructions . Had they included a simple ' Do this before first use' paper , and packaged a bit better, I would not have removed two stars.

These showed up on time and as described I use them to melt acrab gold and silver to make my own bars and they work great. Very durable very well made. I highly recommend these for anybody doing the same.

Got more than I thought. Great little set. If your only after smaller crucibles like I was, these are great products.

All I needed good quality. Molten metal is very hot 2000 degrees be careful
