Robert B. Parker created a collection of novels based on a fictitious police chief, Jessee Stone, in Paradise, MA. Stone is played by Tom Selleck. When the initial movie starts, Stone is a Detective in the Los Angeles Police department and he was fired due to a one-time drinking event on the job. His marriage failed and he was divorced which caused him to start drinking. After his termination, he decided to get away from his ex-wife by moving cross-country as far as he could go. He became the Police Chief in Paradise, MA and started a new life heading up the Police Dept. Each movie incorporates an interesting story line and is well acted with Selleck at the helm.Nine of the Parker novels were selected for movie production on TV. The stories are all quite good and Tom Selleck is excellent as the Chief of Police. The series started out as Hallmark Hall of Fame movies aired on TV with very good ratings, good stories and excellent actors. Tom Selleck, William Devane, Viola Davis, William Sadler, and 16 other actors.Each movie is well written and implemented, sort of like a mini-series. The movie story lines follow one another and are very entertaining. You may find yourself watching them more than once.

We bought the series for our travel trailer. Good clean stories that keep you guessing till the end, without all the profanity you hear in other videos. Watch this one and then start it over watching the first again.

Excellent series, can be re-watched multiple times! The writing, acting and music are all at a very high level. The story lines are good, with (typically) multiple plot lines working. Tom Selleck is great at this role, and is extremely relatable. The supporting cast is terrific as well. Highly recommended, despite being well over a decade old.

Great movies

Great set of movies ~ one of our favorite movie characters, Jesse Stone. So, we invested in the movie collection DVD's, in the event that the power is out or the grid goes down. Generators can run old school devices, so we can watch some of our favorite movies. Product was packaged well and arrived on time.

I bought the DVDs. These stories are interesting, the dialog and acting is good, and the production is slick. The soundtrack and cinematography work very well together for somber moods. Some cool guest stars (Rebecca Pidgeon!) Pretty good value for nine movies.I took off a star because, as others have pointed out, the shows are in random order so you can't watch two in a row without swapping discs.
