What Buddha Taught

This is a great book. It breaks down the key teachings of Buddhism in a way that makes them understandable. I frequently referenced the excellent glossary at the end of the book as well as the footnotes to get a better understanding.

This book really gives you a true down to earth look at what Buddha was teaching. My son had this book so I ordered it. It took a while to come but I know I will always keep it by myside and reread it through out my life. It's a must have. I have read many books on Buddha but this is a book on what he taught. Plain, down to earth teaching. A MUST HAVE BOOK.

An excellent summation of the teacings of the Buddha. I am reading it again after many years, and still find it excellent

This is an excellent exposition of Buddhism's precepts, written clearly--BUT it can get a bit confusing for those who know little, or nothing, of Buddhism's tenets. For example, the reader may have heard of the 4 Noble Truths, but has he/she ever heard of the 5 Aggregates which make up the First Truth? Reading this is educational, but not a fun read. The reader must stay foused and intent on the content, or suffering WILL occur!

Everyone who claims to be a Buddhist or wants to know what Buddhism really stands for should read this book.

I'm so happy, it just arrived. I've heard so much good about this book here in local discussions! It will be worth the wait.

Better than any other treatment, this work is made all the more valuable by the authors reliance on an parsing of original Buddhist sutras and sayings.

some pages were so lightly printed it was difficult to read. But i have decided to keep the book anyway.
