The husk is shreaded very fine which is very suitable for sowing seeds and in starter soil mixture as there is no big air gaps and seedling get good hold for rooting. Only drawback is a lot of husk fiber clumps used as filler to bulk up its weight. But no sand or pebbles are added with is a good sign of authenticity form seller .

Gardening is one of my hobbies, I hereby sometimes planting new plants in my garden, so I need a lot of soil. Insted of that I use cocopeat in maximum number alongside soil & compost. Cocopeat because it is compressed after moist it goes upto 5 times. So economically this is also helpful. Cocopeat usually has the high water retention therfore frequency of water would be less. The chances of pest attack goes down in cocopeat. It provides nutrition as well. This product too fulfil it's claims.

I am very disappointed with this COIR GARDEN Cocopeat Block. The quality is far below the standard expected from a gardening product. After soaking the 5 kg block, the volume expanded only 2–3 times, whereas it should normally expand 5–7 times. This means the cocopeat is heavily compressed with impurities and not worth the cost. The block also contains 30–40% fibre, which makes it unsuitable for seed starting or potting mixes. Even worse, I found nearly 500 grams of sand mixed inside, which adds to the weight but provides no value. There were also foreign materials like plastic pieces and rice husk, clearly showing that the product is not properly cleaned or processed. Overall, this cocopeat is of poor quality, highly inconsistent, and not at all suitable for gardening or hydroponics. I do not recommend this product at all.
