Most versatile pot I own
I've had and (still) use this pot from my original Farberware Classic Set for over 55 years. It's my favorite pot to use, with something cooking several times a week. It's singularly spectacular for pasta. These two pots were gifts to my adult sons, who have fancier pots and pans but none this particular size. It's the best.I often start something in mine, then realize I only have small or very large pots to make another component. I'm going to order one from myself so that I have two!BEST pot, BEST size, and, as I also have a 'fancy' set of pots and pans that are quite heavy, especially with soups, this Farberware pot (and my original classic set) are all the BEST WEIGHT as I'm getting older.

High Quality for a very reasonable price. Made in the USA
Ordered the 6 Quart Pot. Just perfect size so soups etc do not boil over. Shiny, with a perfectly fitted lid. Highly recomended. Made in the USA.

Faberware 6qt pot
LOVE THIS POT. PERFECT SIZE FOR CHILI, GOULASH, cooking a whole chicken for and noodle soup, making stock etc. Cooking a pot roasts, pork roasts or ham. Or a larger portion of something for a gathering. Great stability, performance, heat distribution, and the handles are nice and off the burner heat! Light weight. Not heavy except when full of fluid. Perfect for cooking spaghetti or lasagne noodles, a whole cabbage or pot of collard greens!

The pan I received required a lot of extra cleaning
I got this 6 qt dutch oven yesterday and immediately washed it well with hot soapy water then of course dried it with a soft dish towel. I always rub coconut oil in the bottom of any stainless steel. When doing this I noticed a black residue on the paper towel. This morning I decided to try my new piece and make my famous beef stew. Because there was this residue yesterday I decided it would be a good idea to boil some water in this pan before using it. After boiling water for 15 minutes drained the water and wiped pot with another dish towel, and then rubbed some coconut oil on the bottom and sides. Again there was this black stuff on my paper towel. I thought I'm going to send this pan back, but instead called Fabraware Company and talked to a lady about what was coming off the bottom and sides of the pan. She couldn't quite understand why this would be happening. So asked a question if anyone else has noticed this. The company replied that it was probably some polishing compound and not to be concerned. Well I'm not sure if this is made in China or the US; but I sure did not want to be eating food from this pan until this problem was or could be solved. Especially if this thing was made in China. So I boiled half white vinegar with half water for 20 minutes and then drained the pan. Then got out my Bar Keepers Friend and went all over the inside of the pan and and washed and rinsed again. Then rubbed coconut oil on the bottom and sides and the black residue was gone. So I made my stew by first browning the beef dredged in flour.. To my amazement it worked fantastic, no stick and browned nicely. Then finished adding the rest of my ingredients, and this pan worked fantastic. I have a glass cooktop and never turned the heat above medium. It was one of my best stews. I have all Vintage Revere Ware except for this piece. Never have seen black residue come from any stainless steel cookware before.. This is the reason I gave this a 4. We'll see how it holds up in the long run. But I do take extra care with all my stainless steel cookware. Guess I'm a neat freak, for everything has to be shinny and clean. Will update later on after I've used this pan, but so for other than the residue it seems to be a nice piece and cooks well. The handles got somewhat warm but not hot. Love the feel of the pan and the bottom seems very nice. It's not flimsy, not too heavy. Hope it holds up; if so then it will be a keeper.

Good quality pans
I love this brand and style. I’ve used them for decades and they heat evenly and are good sturdy lifetime use pans. I just purchased these for my daughter and fully expect to hand down mine to her some day.

GREAT SOUP KETTLE
tHE LID IS WHAT MAKES IT GREAT. iT IS MANUFACTURED SO THAT ALL THE STEM COLLECT ON THE LID AND THEN DRIPS BACK INTO THE POT. THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN IS WELL CONSTRUCTED AND NOT THIN.
