I got this memory foam bassinet mattress for something completely different than its intended purpose. I had recently purchased a second-hand storage ottoman that I planned to spruce up and reupholster to match my couch. It was cheap and the perfect size, but uncomfortable to sit on. The padding was so worn down you could feel the wooden frame around the edges. I looked into upholstery foam, but had a feeling it wouldn’t be enough unless I piled it on, adding too much height. I decided on memory foam as a base, and that’s when I came across this bassinet mattress that just so happened to be the perfect size for my rectangular ottoman! The mattress consists of two layers; high density foam, and cooling gel foam, so one side is firmer than the other. Just this alone was enough to cushion against the wood frame even when I tested it on my knees. Unlike a lot of mattresses, it comes with a waterproof cover and a hypoallergenic bamboo cover that can be removed for cleaning. This wasn’t a necessity for my off-label use, but it adds a lot to this product’s value as a bassinet mattress, as purchasing a waterproof mattress cover separately can often be expensive. For a mattress measuring 35” x 20” x 1.5”, the $45.99 price tag seems average for a good quality bassinet mattress, and perhaps too expensive for my purposes, but when I added up the cost of the ottoman and the materials I used to restore it, it was still a small fraction of the cost to buy the ottoman that goes with my couch or others like it, so it definitely has value as added cushioning to chairs, ottomans, and other furniture projects.

First of all, I really liked the dual firmness feature of the mattress. That is exactly what I was looking for. Also, it comes with removable zippered cover which is machine washable so no need to worry about any liquid spills. Overall, I loved it.

This mattress arrived compressed and after 24 hours it was 3" tall. It has a very soft cover!! It is a perfect fit for the Pack&Play, plus it can be folded up as needed. If you were looking for a stiff, flat mattress, this is not it. It is a very useful, soft mattress that can be used anywhere. As far as the two different sides of firmness, that was negligible, to me, but I am aware there is a difference.

This mattress arrived very promptly and was nicely packaged. Was easy to set up (open packaging and wait for it to regain its shape). Was able to use it pretty soon after in our daughter’s mini crib! Fits perfectly in standard mini crab/pack n play. The quality is really nice, very soft/plush, and very comfy. I highly recommend it!!

I don't have kits but I do have cats and they now sleep on this great item.
