The media could not be loaded. I bought this for a few of my vfts. Since most of the reviews were good I decided to get it. You don’t need much of it either. It expands like crazy in (distilled) water. I still have a lot left. I bought some carnivorous plants and I got a VFT as my free gift. It was in a tiny nursery pot and it was definitely too small. So I could tell it was going to die if I didn’t repot it soon. Within 3 days half of it turned black and it didn’t look healthy. As soon as I got the soil I went to repot it and it was very easy. Just looked up a quick tutorial on YouTube. I also repotted another VFT I’ve had for awhile. It wasn’t looking good either and the seller had tied a small paper bag with soil on the roots (guessing when it shipped here) preventing it from growing in the long run. I took that off and re potted them too. In the same pot just new soil. Now my plants are thriving!!! New growths are popping up! They look greener too. Retains the moisture well.

My carnivorous plants are indoors, under a grow light. They seem to be thriving, so no complaints there. I have constant weed problems, though: grass and other small plants are constantly sprouting and I have to carefully pull them out.

Instructions on how to prepare soil were kind of vague but with a little help from you tube, everything turned out great. Good deal! Enough soil for at least 10 plants (3 inch pots).

I bought a little Venus fly trap. It was looking very sad. I kept feeding him flies but he still looked like he was dying. I googled what dirt he would do best in & was happy to find this to plant him in. So the life of Herman was saved.. Thank you.Great price too once you add water 😁

I love this for my venus fly traps. I just keep having problems with random plants (weeds) growing with my fly trap. Anyone have any idea what else is growing in the picture ? Overall it works great for my venus flytraps.

This is shipped dry in a block that looks like compacted sawdust, with a bag or perlite (the white "fluffy" rocks). When you add water, it expands like a giant Weetabix. Use less than you think you'll need. It is perfect for my carniverous plants.
