I have the original version of these that came with one of my old Galaxy Notes from back in the day when we got earbuds in the box with a new phone. I still have them. These sound about the same except they’re white instead of dark gray. They are easy to carry around as they fit easily in even a small purse. I do have a phone with a headphone jack, but you could also use these with a dongle. They aren’t what I’d call elite audiophile quality, but wired earbuds still sound better than almost all Bluetooth earbuds. But I mainly like having these for phone calls as the only thing that beats an inline microphone is a boom microphone and of course those are a bit more bulky, if you can even find earbuds with a boom (Kinera makes a boom mic that is excellent). For the price, I think having a pair of these is a good backup strategy for when your Bluetooth devices need to be charged or someone you’re trying to talk to just can’t hear you over the noise.

I do like the covered cable with the cloth, which gives it a better sense of protection from the cable getting shredded. I do like the design of the housing around the earbud portion, sits very ergonomically inside your ear…and of course with the best fitting earbud tips to use for your own sense of passive noise isolation. The mic works fine, the controls are built well and are user friendly designed. But the sound… it’s a bit muddy at the bottom, gets abrasive at louder volumes, and can’t really hear too much detail overall. I guess you get what you pay for…

I’ve always thought that the headphones Samsung provided were some of the best “included” headsets you could find. I’ve always them to be extremely high quality, and while maybe not at the top echelon of audiophile quality in terms of music reproduction, they’ve always been more than good enough for me. Unfortunately I’ve lost or misplaced every set that I’ve gotten over the years, so when I began searching for a set to pair with my Asus ROG Ally, I came across these and so far, I couldn’t be happier.Number one, the headset arrives in a pretty nondescript box. I do know that often Samsung includes a little case to store the headset, but that’s not included here. All you get is the headset and a set of various sized tip replacements. Well, that’s fine for this price point anyway… In any case, the headset arrived undamaged and as-new.Now this might be a personal opinion, but I’m pretty big on aesthetics when it comes to electronics and gadgets and I just love how well the headset matches the Asus ROG Ally’s color scheme. I also really appreciate the quality braiding of this headset and the overall quality feel of the connectors and volume/controls. They always feel like they’ll just last forever, especially in comparison to the cheap EarPods that Apple “used” to throw into their phones. I can’t tell you how many of those I’ve seen fray and fall apart over the years… I have no concerns with this one however.All in all, if you’re looking for a reasonably priced, quality headset for use with your laptop, gaming device, phone or other electronic, then you’d be hard pressed to come up with a better alternative. I’d highly recommend this set and be fairly certain that you’d not regret it!
