Old Tech PIR lets this unit down
Had my 1st PIR light in the early 80's from RS and it was still working OK when we move house 15 years later. Our current house has a garage and parking drive at the bottom of the garden. For a number of years now we have had a PIR lantern by the front door and three eyelid PIR's in the back garden to illuminate our normal passage into the house. Since the streetlamp by our drive was changed to LED it does not illuminate our drive very well. I decided to mount a PIR lamp over the garage door. I am now on my 4th light. The 1st was a LED floodlight which after 3 months failed. Only a small number of the LED chips illuminated, and the rest were dim or totally dead. The next lamp was a contained bulkhead fitting and after a few months this started to fail with the resulting light flickering and very dim. I wanted to buy to a lamp that had a replacement bulb like all my others, so I purchased a white eyelid light from Amazon. This lasted 2 days and then failed. On inspection in daylight, I found that the PIR was full of water/condensation. Hence the purchase of this lamp. the first problem with this lamp was that the lens has to be levered off with a screwdriver (very frightening although it is polycarbonate)). One of the lights leads had broken off from the back of the fitted connecter block and being a once only push fit connecter I had to change the block for one I fortunately had in stock. The setting up was OK but the sensibility adjustment appeared not to work. No matter it's setting the PIR picked up everything, including my neighbours in their drive across the road. I eventually sorted it out by trial and error with pieces of black PVC tape placed strategically on the PIR lens. I will have to see how long this unit lasts as at 78 I am losing the will to live.

OK for price
I bought this to replace my existing light, the holes were smaller in the back of this one so new holes had to be drilled ..However a fast way to put this up is use one existing screw hole to secure fixture with silicone sealing it off at the same time, job done. it took me around 10 minutes to get the old light off and this one in place. The connection for the wires can be fiddly but taking of the plastic ' window' helps sadly i couldnt get it back on due to the old style copper wires being thicker than usual, so i left it off. light works but i havent seen it the dark as yet , but so far so good i tested it and it light sup fine , not sure how bright it will be yet as the bulbs are very small. Time will tell. 5 stars as it is what it is... a simple , cheap light fixture which i think is value for money.

Not the best, but doesn't cost much
It's a low cost unit but even so, the quality isn't great. It's flimsy and made of the meanest plastic. Installation was somewhat fiddly due to small amount of clearance between the spring clip terminal block and the bottom of the case. Although the biggest problem with this particular sample was getting the cover back on: I very nearly gave up! It basically works though and didn't cost much. I don't think think it'll last long.

Not very robust and fiddly to wire up.
Looked like a nice light but far from easy to wire up. It does not appear to be compatible with outdoor cabling. I found it impossible to keep the wires in place. So I gave up and bought a new product. I would not buy this again.

Once set up, it works well.
A little tricky to set up the PIR sensors because the adjusters are quite small and the booklet is not very clear. Once set up, it works well.
