I have long hair, to the middle of my back, that is moderately thick but only slightly wavy. It's not a chore to straighten out. I use a flat iron to smooth things out after blow drying but it's like a 5 minute job, if that. My point here is that I don't have problematic hair. I travel for work and want to start packing less, and was hopeful that this product could be my all in one hairbrush/flat iron. Again, just to smooth things out not a big job. So before my next business trip I ordered this to test drive it. It barely does anything. If nothing else my hair just got frizzy and I ended up with a lot of flyaways. I could mayyyyybe use it for touch ups on non-wash days but never as my main flat iron on wash days. I was thinking I could still maybe get away with using it on my last work trip as it was only 2 days so I wouldn't need to wash my hair. The day before I charged it up and it would no longer power on. I tried charging again, just in case, nothing. So I returned it. Very disappointing all around.

I have a full size corded brush styler (from another brand) that I like to use to help smooth out my hair and while this device is not as strong as that one, even at the highest settings, it still works surprisingly well. I have noticed I have been reaching for this instead of my plugged type. The smaller size is convenient and easy to use. I have tried a number of cheaper portable stylers and this is by far the best one I have tried. I like that the brush never feels overheated, it holds heat without having a charging cord attached, and I love the extra safety lock plug for greater security. The bag is also perfect fit for the device and easy to take around. The device feels sturdy, not too light, and not too heavy. I was able to take it in the car with me, style my hair, and set it on my lap and then in the case to cool without any burns or issues. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. I think it's perfect for travel and times on the go.

Knocking off one star because the charge life is meh. I get two or three solid uses off a full charge before it red rings. I have a longer bob that is below my chin but still off my shoulders and this is nice when I want to tame some bed head real quick.

Go for the standard, non-battery powered version. I bought this to be able to use for a European destination wedding. It did the job and straightened my frizzy, curly hair with a nice blowout look. However the battery life is pretty pathetic. I have thick hair but not very long (down to collar bones) and could not even get through one straightening without it showing a low battery. This was with it being fully charged every time. And despite the product description, it’s very slow to charge as well. The day of the wedding I went a little slower to be more thorough about it and ended up having to rush the last few bits of hair to finish before it fully died. Then, despite letting it charge for more than an hour, it didn’t last long enough for me to do a quick touch up. I also agree with the other reviews that the handle gets alarmingly, uncomfortably hot. Now that I’m back in the US, I only use it while plugged in. If you are considering this for travel, definitely only get if you will be able to recharge after every use. All that being said, it really does straighten hair to a silky blowout look.

I’ve had this for a while and just never used it until recently and I love it. It’s awesome for me being in the go all the time. If I don’t have time to straighten my hair in the morning I can brush my hair with this on the go and works great!

I purchased this at the end of April and it is now the end of July (3 months) and the Tymo Porta Pro no longer works. I have only used it about five times and now when I go to turn it on, it flashes and turns off- does not heat up. I am outside of the 30 day refund window so this will just be a costly lesson. I was on a trip when it died and had to rely on a hotel dryer with a broken handle . :-/ The few times that I did use it, it did not do much to my hair, I blow dry and usually smooth out with an iron or- as I was hoping- this brush. The Porta did not smooth my hair very well, it was still frizzy, but I was able to get a slight curl in the ends. Just really disappointed with this experience. I saw another review that stated their Porta broke after 6 uses which mirrors my experience with this product.

I bought this because I was tired of my flat iron catching a few strands of my hair and pulling them out. I did my research on this first and watched a lot of reviews before deciding to purchase it. I was not disappointed; this is by far the best straightener I have ever owned. Pros: - never hot to the touch, no more accidentally burning myself on the irons! - doesn't pull out hair - small, compact design. easy for travel and doesn't take up a ton of space in the drawer - good selection of heat settings Cons: - it smelled funny the first time I turned it on, but it disappeared quickly - it takes a bit to heat up - the little USB-C travel adapter is easy to lose All in all, buy this, you won't be disappointed. It makes my hair sleek and shiny, with no frizz. Styling takes me 10 minutes instead of 30 now, too ( I have shoulder-length hair). I have fine hair, so I turned the heat down a little, and it was perfect. I will get rid of all of my other styling tools because this is all I need. It gives you so much flexibility to choose how you want to style because it's as easy to use as a regular brush. 10/10.
