I bought this DVD for my 5th grade science class. It has several selections that are wonderful additions to our curriculum. However, there is some material that I felt the need to censor for 5th graders. The narrator has a heavy English accent and may have missed important information but the photography was wonderful!

Great for those curious about animals.
Recieved as a gift for both me abd my brother. Incredibly informative, and beautiful live photography. I've watched many multiple times. Only problems: I do wish there were subtitles included. It would also be nice if, when you pick an episode to watch on episode selection, it did not automatically start the next episode. Also, there is one weird glitch, least on one side, where near the end of the loop, the menu picture dissappears, but the music keeps going. It eventually comes back however. Those said, for people who are animal lovers or curious about animals (some episodes even look at the similarities of human behavior to animal behavior, and one looks to the animal world to see if the common belief that our tendency for war and violence is part of our animal heritage is actually true.), these documentaries are wonderful.

CLOUDY DVD
When i bought this DVD there were no reviews yet and thought for under $8 that 9 hours is a lot of documentary about animals instincts and habits in the wild. Now that i have viewed the DVD i could honestly say that the resolution is weak sort of cloudy and the narrator seems to be directed more towards personal beliefs than animal instincts and habits in the wild.At best a two or three disc set would be a better deal for so many hours of movie viewing in anyone's collection.I regret buying this one DVD.

Is there another way to say drivel???
This is the worst documentary I have ever watched. The photography was second rate at best. The commentary was beneath a reasonably intelligent person's dignity. Contradiction after contradiction. Interesting theory proporting that evolution can only be successful with a wide base of species? Seriously? Where did the wide base of species come from? This is a pathetic piece of drivel that should be avoided unless you need a laugh!
