Incredible Value for a Perfect Solution
I have a 2011 Mac Mini and I just got a new 2024 M4 Mac Mini, and I needed to be able to use BOTH computers with one keyboard, mouse, and monitor, and this switch not only does that, but includes all the cables I needed to accomplish this amazing feat...... and not only does all that, but also includes a nifty remote control cable with a button that lets me tuck the switch and all the attached cables behind my monitor while having the tiny button out front which takes care of the actual switching between computers. Now, for full disclosure, I did need to provide one adapter to convert one of the USB type A connectors to a type C connector to plug into my new M4 Mac Mini, but that was the only addition I needed to make. And, so that you're aware, I did have one issue when I started it up. At first, everything seemed to work fine, but I quickly found that each time I switched back and forth, the new computer didn't recognize the keyboard or switch. What I learned was that I had to go into the new computer's system settings and "teach" it to recognize the keyboard and switch, which was VERY easy to do, just a matter of the new computer telling me which keys to press, which I did a few times, and that was it. Now, when I switch back and forth, there is a slight 1-2 second black screen, then I click the mouse and the chosen computer screen comes right back up. Perfect.Highly recommended.

This is the best thing I've bought in a while
I have a laptop for work, my personal pc tower, and a wide-screen. I need more space than my tiny laptop screen when doing my work, but I hated having to unplug my screen, keyboard and mouse to each time I wanted to switch between my laptop and desktop. I was worried at how this would work as using the docking and connection items that came with the laptop did not go smoothly. However, this was so easy! The instructions are every clear and what to plug in where, and the ways to plug in depending on set up. It wa literally plug and play! . And the switch is small so it does not take much room on the desk. When I switch between my two computers, there is no issue, and cause no problems with my monitor as it's also a smart TV. Couldn't recommend enough if you're looking for ease and to reduce cords!

KVM works great, but hard to tell which unit is active
Works great, but I wish it had a better mechanism for telling which pc is active. There are two little blue indicators on top, but they are difficult to see and tell which unit is active. My desk-side does not recognize the display unless it is active while booting and if I don’t have it active, then I need to reboot by pushing the power button.

Very good product.
I’ve been using this product for a month after I bought it. I had previously purchased the cheaper version that was like 30$ and it broke after 3 month of use, do yourself a favor and buy this one instead. The quality of the cables are great.

Missing Some Key Info
So for the most part the unit works. However, it's missing something. It does in fact need the USB-C power to work effectively and it doesn't include a cable or charger for it. Running a single machine doens't present an issue. However, hooking up two machines won't produce an image on the second machine - unless you plug the unit it.The good news is that it comes with all the other cables required and does work well. Docked it because of that as it's still a good value.

Stopped working after 6 months
Product worked great until I moved my work station and had to set my desk back up. Since then the usb ports do not work. I’ve tried several different devices and usb cords and it does not work. All usb cords work find when I plug them in elsewhere. I’m disappointed, it’s only been 6 months of use.

Successful Mac Air and Windows set-up
I bought this to be able to share an external monitor, switching between my Mac Air M1 and a work laptop (Windows 10). I'm using a hub for my Mac so I connected HDMI from the hub rather than directly from my computer. Set up was easy and everything worked flawlessly.I also wanted to be able to use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but was afraid my Mac peripherals might have trouble so I bought an iClever keyboard and mouse combo (2.4G IC-GK08) that works with both Mac and PC and requires only a single USB dongle for the pair (included). This also worked great. Once I paired to my Mac there was no need to pair to the Windows laptop, although it's possible to select the appropriate OS on the keyboard.I wanted to use a webcam on the monitor instead of using the laptop cameras and selected a Brio 100 that works with both MacOS and Windows. After selecting the new camera in Zoom, Facetime, and Teams the camera also seems to be working fine for both systems although I haven't used it in an actual meeting yet. Hope this helps those of you looking to do a similar set-up!

Fantastic, affordable USB/HDMI KVM
Absolutely fantastic, modern, affordable KVM. I use this to switch between my work notebook and personal notebook at home, all connected to USB hubs, webcam, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones, etc. The switching takes around 3 seconds for the USB stuff (that's the devices reconnecting to the "new" system) and around 5 seconds for my monitor (because my monitor is slow). But other than the bit of delay, it seems like this is probably the best KVM on the market, especially for this price point.Just be aware than the "not connected" device will act as though the HDMI monitor is completely unplugged, USBs are completely unplugged, etc., so you'll need to adjust your system's power settings to "stay awake" even when everything is disconnected. Which is a bit of a problem sometimes for my Windows notebook, because it loves to reset its own settings and therefore go to sleep ugh.
