Good book for understanding worldviews.
This book is a great study book for understanding worldviews and the importance of examining yours for weaknesses. It is a little hard to understand at the beginning because he uses words not commonly used in everyday language. We read the first two chapters, skimmed the next few, and then went over each individual worldview. If this book was rewritten in more common language for less educated folk that would be better, to be honest.

Can I give it negative 5 stars?
Like so many others, this is assigned reading for a college course. Sadly, I found it to be about as well researched as other Christian books about different religions - full of hyperbole and supposition. Many of the other worldviews included in this book are inaccurately portrayed and full of false information. I say this not as an unbeliever but rather as someone who spent 28 years in paganism and New Age theology. The "author" sets up tests to show how other worldviews are flawed, yet those tests are skewed in such a way as to only allow a Christian worldview (I prefer biblical worldview).Sadly, most Christians will read this from a perspective in their Christian bubble, which serves to insulate them from the rest of the world, which many of them will never truly venture out into.

Reasoned discussion on worldview
The author takes a reasoned look at the different world views which dominate modern society. He explains each worldview from a non-biased and philosophical perspective as one who has explored all world views. This is a good book for student and seeker both.

tough concepts presented in easy to read format
I bought this book for a college philosophy class and unlike other college texts, this one will become part of my permanent library. Cosgrove compares and contrasts several worldviews, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. It is a great read for believers and skeptics alike. At the very least, after reading the book, both will have a better (and respectful) understanding of opposing worldviews.Honest, concise, and easy to understand.

Such a terrific reference work!
Such a terrific reference work! But with so many terrific random digits, it's a shame they didn't sort them, to make it easier to find the one you're looking for.

Highly Recommended!
This book is excellent in describing what a Christian worldview should look like. It is also helpful in understanding other worldviews and why they do not stand up to a 3-part test. Very informative and well written.
