I was hoping this would make a good surface mounted junction box for outside of my garage but once I had it in hand it didn't seem like it was going to work out. The body felt brittle and given that I wanted to place this a foot or two off of the ground, there's a good chance it might get hit with a ball or a shovel that was leaned on the wall and fell over or something and I didn't want to risk it cracking. It did not at all feel like other 4x4 or 4x2 PVC junction boxes. The knockouts also didn't seem like they were trade size, but since I didn't use it I can't say for sure, but at best the larger looked like it was 1/2", not 1". Lastly what really bothered me was that this was a 12x12 box and only sealed with 4 tiny screws, no gasket or even raised offset for piece of mind. This did not feel weatherproof, especially since the lid had a slight deformation that meant it did not sit flush to the body. This might work fine for indoor use with communication or low voltage wires when you want to conceal a mess but I wouldn't use this for 120V/240V.

Haven't installed it yet, but it looks good. Deducted one star just because I have not used it yet.

I sent it back after it arrive. It was cracked from shipping. I wouldn't trust it for outdoor longevity if it's that fragile.

Received with a broken corner It had been returned so it was a few bucks cheaper. No where did it state the box was damaged
