I needed a metal-pin profile copier and this one was the best design, best value I found. This kind is different to the more modern plastic types that are okay for flooring but too course for carpentry and other kinds of making. I've seen many user reviews that pronounce "rubbish, don't buy it" etc, but I think these are people with no patience and no feeling for how these products work. Because of the inherent and necessary friction in so many sliding pins, you can't expect them to all move at once; sometimes you have to 'coax' them up to the surface being copied, a few at a time, especially if the surface material is soft or fragile like foam for example. It's worth the effort because the profile-in-pins that results is accurate and 'fine' enough to transferred in pencil to the workpiece.

Does the job intended, very easy to use. Didn't find it overly stiff and none of the bristles have come out, more accurate than the plastic ones. But obviously it's only so long so can't be used for every application, not going to beat it for getting the profile of a skirting board. Would buy again

It is very stiff, hard to move and is very sharp- have cut my fingers on it every time I have tried to use it.

Bought this for my son and he was very impressed

I used to use a metal profile gauge with my Dad, so I know how a good one should work.I opened the packet, and some of the pins fell to the floor. They're clearly too loose. I put them back in, and pressed against the moulding I needed. Some of the pins were stuck together and couldn't be moved separately, so some are too tight. Bit of a disappointment, as had been recommended by someone in a shop.

Just what I needed for doing the laminate flooring to measure those tight to reach places!
