My Favorite Herbal “Dry” Shampoo
I seek out products like this because water/cream based shampoo and conditioners give me awful psoriasis and clog my pores. Some will give me rashes and few I couldn’t go out in the sun until I wash it out. It’s painful and I spent a lot of money over the years finding new shampoos that don’t really work for me. Because of this I’m pretty familiar with herbal hair mixtures and I have even gone as far to make my own but that takes time and I now have a curious toddler. After a few years of using another powder shampoo I saw this and figured I’d give it a try. I absolutely love it and Cultivate is my favorite dry/powder herbal blend. (I’ve made about 4 orders so far.)The mixture is just perfect. For someone with straight hair I have A LOT of it and I’m impressed I don’t need to dump a quarter of the bag just to get it to clean my scalp. The directions say to use it as a paste and it’s very annoying that it’s not helpful to tell you how much you might want to use, but it IS an effective product if used appropriately. A paste would never distribute well through my hair so I have found applying directly through a squeeze bottle to be more effective through my hair. I use about two table spoons and the rest of the container I fill with warm water. Sometimes I just use a cleaned take-out soup container, suction it to my scalp and swish it around. **I like to follow up with a ACV/water blend through my hair to make sure it all rinses out while it softens my hair. If you’re having trouble getting all the product out I suggest washing your hair in the bath or following up with the suggested ACV/water rinse if you’re taking a shower.Like all shampoos, you don’t want to get it in your eyes. This especially will dry them out and it’s powder so it doesn’t just slip out of your eye socket in water like a water/cream based shampoo would. I try not to wear my contacts on hair washing days just in case I get careless. The smell isn’t bad and it doesn’t linger when washed out. You can add your own essentials oils if you want a different smell.

Replaced my regular shampoo
I started using this product a few months ago in the hope that my hair not be so dried out after a wash, take care of a scratchy scalp and not have so much hair loss on wash days. It did all of these things for me. It is important to note that I have loose curly hair, so not sure how it would react on tighter curls or straight hair.

Well phooey
I've only used this once since it came several days earlier. My hair is not in a good place right now, although I have been "poo" free for several years. Sorry. More later when I've been off my latest prescriptions. *sigh*

Organic and 100% herbal
I use a powdered hair color and this powdered Cultivator's Hair shampoo follows the same process. I add 2 spoons of shampoo powder to a bowl and add about 8 spoons of warm water to make a paste, then I apply the shampoo throughout my hair, massage it through my hair and scalp, and leave it for about 3 minutes. I then rinse thoroughly with warm water. My hair felt soft and clean but a little dry, as it does with any other shampoo that I use, so I used a leave-in conditioner and styled my hair as usual. I especially like that this is all plant-based without harmful chemicals and additives and that it is tested for heavy metals, pesticide residue, and microbial load. I didn't experience any negative side effects. It doesn't lather like a regular shampoo, but it does clean well.
