I’m a huge fan of Kristy and when I saw that she was releasing her own line of empty palettes, I knew I had to get them. And yes, I did get the whole collection … cause im kind of a palette junkie. I was very happy when I unboxed the palette. A few things I noticed: * It’s well made and feels substantial without being overly heavy for its size * There is a ring on the bottom for stability if you take it out on a plein air session (although, this one is a bit large for that, it would still be doable) * The pan tray can be removed for more mixing area or use the space for attaching pans from other palettes (looking at you Kuretake Gansai Tambi) * She includes 48 empty half pans. Or if you want, take out the half pans and replace with your own full pans (see pic for a visual) * The removable pan tray is finished with rose gold … ROSE GOLD! And in Kristy style, she doesn’t short you on the extra touches. Here’s a quick rundown: * The painting on the palette cover is her own work * She gives you a QR code on the back of the box for a special prerecorded session with her teaching you how to paint the palette design * On the side of the box, there is a quote especially for artists, from artists. Don’t overlook it! * Did i mention that the tray is finished in rose gold The value of the tin itself as well as all the extras she gives, is definitely worth it. This is a collectible, a piece of art that can be handed down as a keepsake. Yeah, it’s that beautiful. I’ve also included some of her brushes in the pictures … 3/4” dagger, #6 cat’s tongue, and #2 round. Check those out too, they’re solid and well balanced. Note: if you do look them up, make sure they’re Kristy’s and not the fake ones that LOOK dang near identical to hers.

Gorgeous design on this large watercolor palette. This pallet is perfect for those of us who like to have many different watercolor colors available to us when working (painting). I use this pallet as the travel palette I take to my watercolor classes. It holds all the colors you will ever need, even if you’re the queen (or king) of convenience colors like I am. Further, it has multiple mixing areas to tweak those convenience colors. I’m very happy with this purchase, as I have been with all my purchases from Kristy Rice. Some have mentioned the price. However, in this case you get what you pay for. It’s the perfect travel palette for those who like many colors. It’s easy to set up and use and cleans up very nicely.

The packaging was sturdy and protected my palette during shipping. The palette itself is great quality and sturdy. The design is absolutely beautiful! I am so happy that it came with empty pans so I did not have to purchase pans in addition to purchasing this palette. I have been using this palette for a few months now, and it still looks great! No rust, no chipping, no dents, etc. It has held up to heavy usage and travel! This palette comes with a metal flap for mixing that folds in under the lid, but I removed it because I do not like that extra flap on my palettes. I have gotten many compliments from other artists and in my art classes about this palette. I would definitely recommend this palette to others!

I received my 3, the Botanical 48, Dahlias 24, and Anemone 12 pans! They are so amazingly beautiful! They will all set out on my table! They are pure quality and packed wonderfully! No dents or scratches on these babies! I ordered the Strawberries and the Hellebore palettes of 24 also! Haven’t received them yet, but I’m totally sold on her products and just hooked on these palettes! They just make you feel good, and happy, and want to get your brushes to paint. Plus they just add a spark of beauty on your table! So happy to the eyes! The rose gold addition to the pan insert is just a little plus! If you have Kristy’s first paint palette, you know the beauty and quality! I have it, and LOVE her paint set! Her products are amazing! You won’t be sad if you purchase for sure! The possibilities are endless with this tin! Kristy’s art on the outside is inspiring. Just fill the empty pans with your own tube colors and you’re ready to go. Or pop in pans you already have. You can rearrange, add or take away colors any time you want to customize your set. I hope Kristy comes out with her own line of tube watercolors someday but until then I’ll enjoy other brands of paint in this beautiful tin. Kristy is an amazing artist and shares so much information that is helpful for beginners or experienced artists.

I love these palettes! The art work on them is simply gorgeous, but the best part is this isn’t one of those tins you have to be an engineer to get your pans to stay in. It’s the real deal with clips to hold the pans in. Comes with half pans but you can easily swap out for full pans too. I love that I can lift the inner part that holds the pans out of the case and make them easier to fill, also giving more mixing area in the palette itself!

I have spent a lot of money on paint I enjoy. I put them into a beautiful pallet to inspire me to use them. While it does function as others it is sturdy and feels more like professional quality materials. I enjoy the rose gold clips inside as well.

Dieser Aquarellkasten ist ein Hingucker und macht richtig Lust darauf, mit ihm zu arbeiten. Die Verarbeitung ist solide, nichts wackelt oder klemmt. Sehr gut finde ich, dass er mit zusätzlich 48 leeren (Halb-Pfannen) Näpfchen geliefert wird, die entweder selbst befüllt oder ausgetauscht werden können. Der Kasten ist flexibel genug, auch größere Näpfe aufzunehmen, so dass man sich ihn individuell zusammenstellen kann. Danke dafür! 3.5 stars. I almost returned this palette because it was really expensive for an empty watercolor palette, and also because I bought a small pallet from Schmincke after a couple of days. It seems a nice quality, but the palette had an small scratch inside… for the price it should be spotless. The design was a little busy for my taste, but it still cute. The seller could have more style options to be chosen, and I really think that is was overpriced. I think I am repeating myself…LOL The tray for the pans jiggles inside the palette, so I will add magnet tape under the tray to keep it looked in place. Another issue was that I wanted full pans and this palette comes with half pans only, so I had to order full pans from a different seller. Fortunately the full pans fitted perfectly, so I decided to keep it. In conclusion If I had got this palette as a gift I would love it.

My new favourite watercolor palette, looks beautiful, closes perfectly, and the stunning copper pan holders - chefs' kiss! Have already purchased a second one of these I like it so much.

Just perfect. The only criticism is that it seems too expensive. But still a much better deal than anything you can find at a local art store. Hope it hold up.
