FANTASTIC enclosure for adding removable backup storage or just a ginormous amount of storage.
I've had issues with Carbonite not working correctly, so this was my solution for adding a standalone RAID for an onsite system backup, and now I only wish my case had more bays so I could add another unit. The READYXIO is a GREAT little box for adding disks. The first one I tried failed to recognize ALL the drives, but it may have been a faulty interface card and not a fault of this enclosure. I reordered and also replaced the PCIe interface with a HighPoint Technologies RocketRAID 3720C (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XG2BKF4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title) and ... SNAP ... everything's up and running without any issues. I found it to be solid and very well constructed. The disks slide in and out easily and the fan is nearly impossible to hear when it's running. The unit fits into a single 5-1/2" drive bay, but gives you six (6) drive "ports" instead of just 1. It works GREAT with Samsung 870 4TB SSD's and the hot swap feature seems to work, too. What more could you ask for? But then I remember, too, when it was thought that 640kB was enough memory for anyone.

HAS DRIVE ACTIVITY LIGHT!
6 x 2.5" Bay model. It seems to be an amazing value so far! 95% Metal construction and each bay has individual "Disk Drive Activity Lights"! Which is not mentioned in the product listing. One of the LED's is dimmer then the others in my unit, but that sort of thing happens. Also seems to support full SATA 6gb/s or 8gb/s speed. Super easy installation, Comes with all the screws you need. so far works well! the design is perfect. I will update this review if something goes wrong.

Fan failures eliminate any savings over the competition
This should be a decent, reasonable little enclosure.. unfortunately, as others have mentioned the fan fails quickly. After about a month of use in a 24hr environment, the fan began to grind and generate a loud screeching noise. The fan is of such low quality, there is no brand or identifying marks on it. If you have this enclosure, the failing fan can be replaced by a 40mmX10mm 12v DC Fan (I used the noctua A4x10 FLX) if you're willing to bust out the screwdriver and soldering iron.. it's definitely a bit of a project.. but if you're not ready for a project, spend a little more on a different unit.

4 to 1 bay... nice deal
i had a previous 4 to 1 bay enclosure but I noticed that device has some sort of failure and the sata drives only started registering as Sata 2 vs Sata 3. This is a cheap option, the materials are cheap but who cares, it sits in your computer, it doesn't get moved around, so whatever needs to happen to keep the cost down, i'm good. All 4 of my drives are now registering again as Sata3 devices

Good, but tricky to insert thin drives.
Works as expected. Thin drives can tilt up when being inserted. They go all the way in, however miss the connection and don’t work. Just be sure to angle the drive down at the back to connect. You can feel the slight resistance when a proper connection is made. It works fine. One star off because if they made the drive trays taller, it could guide the drive in straight every time. Also looks like there should be an LED for each drive, doesn’t work. I don’t care about that led..no stars off in my review for that.

Fan goes bad in 1 month - otherwise a great product
I was building a NAS in an older Antec server case. The whole system was plug and play and easy setup. The enclosure has a small fan on the back side but after 4 weeks of use the fan went out and the bearings started to make a noise that sounded like a chainsaw. It would be a great product if they just removed the cheap Chinese fans at the back. I just took mine out since I’m only running Sata SSD in it. Not too worried about airflow.

Got it only to work with 5 of the 6, since the 6th one broke it's tiny lever that holds it in. It's a very small flimsy bit of plastic that broke easily when I first opened it. Pity I can't find a good quality one of these (this was my 2nd attempt of a 2nd brand) The blue lights on the front of each bracket aren't leds, but a clear bit of plastic that attempts to show a led at the back.
