I bought this for my 07 TRD FJ. I was flushing the coolant and decided to change this aslo. The TRD is skid plated all the way past the transfer case. I didn't feel like dropping them to find the drains for the block. So I took the old thermostat out of the old housing and reinstalled it minus the thermostat. I had already drained the radiator. I put garden hose in the fill and turned it on slowly. When the radiator was approaching full, I started the FJ. Since there was no thermostat, the drain turned pink immediately. The water going in needs to be going a little faster than the drain. I went into the house and got a drink. When I came back out it was almost clear. I waited until it was clear then turned off the vehicle and then the water and let it drain. I then swapped the empty thermostat housing out with the new one. I closed the drain, filled the overflow tank with 100% antifreeze. I then poured a half gallon of distilled water into the radiator then a half gallon of Toyota red antifreeze in. I then poured a half gallon of distilled water into the empty other water bottle and poured the rest of the antifreeze on top. Opened another gallon of Toyota red antifreeze and topped off the water gallon. That gave me a 50/50 mix in it. I topped off the radiator. Done

2003 4 runner was running a little warmer than normal. Replaced the thermostat and now runs as cook as a summer breeze. Totally satisfied plus only 3 screws made it easy to install.
