U.S. WWII M1916 .45cal 1911 Pistol Leather Holster, Belt, Ammo Pouch Set

I recently purchased a Colt Government model 1911 in 9MM Luger that was manufactured exclusively for the Australian market , I was browsing through Amazon to see what holster arrangements were currently available for the 1911 frame. I discovered this item and thought wow brilliant if it was good enough for the serving men of the U.S Military in world war two, then its absolutely good enough for me. I was extremely impressed with this product when it arrived at my front door in the land down under, as soon as I opened the box I was overwhelmed with the smell of top quality leather. I adjusted the belt to the smallest level as I am a 90R fit , however it needs one extra little hole I recon, and that is the only fault. the 1911 fitted straight into the holster as did the Magazines into the mag pouches, I really did not expect to receive an item as well made as this belt rig, it is well and trully worth the extra 100 bucks the Australian shipping costs to freight it here , all up it was 164.00 Australian dollars with shipping, but I would very highly recommend this to any person who is a bit of a traditionalist who loves both modern history and top quality. I will be using this item for all of my competition shoots from now on. This item exceeded all of my expectations its bloody beautiful mate. I took the liberty to add my Genuine KABAR knife to the mix its a well suited item that finishes the look of the belt rig.

Debated this belt for about 5 months and finally pulled the trigger so here's some pros and consPros- Good quality leather- Fits 1911 models and Beretta 92 models- Carries well for a belt (I only wear a gun belt while hunting so this works good for me)- Appears to be accurate to WW2 service pistol belts so could be use for reenactments or other period costumesCons- Very stiff, although that's to be expected for new leather, I used 2 or 3 coats saddle soap to help loosen the leather then left my 1911 to shape the leather, about a month on its still a bit tight for the 1911 but the Beretta slips out without much resistance- The brass belt buckle was pretty well polished but the clasp for the magazine pouch was tarnished and starting to corrode out of the box, I'm still working out how to correct that without damaging the leather- The size... I'm not sure how these belts were originally designed and I am a thinner guy but the tightest hole could still let the belt fit a sumo wrestler so I had to size it to myself and punch a new holeAll in all its still a great belt. I like to carry large pistols while hunting in case a bear, wild hog or coyote tries to attack me. I had a belt for revolvers but nothing for semi auto pistols so this fills the void and overall a good purchase for me personally

Although it was built for a golem and I'm a rather short latino from Chile, this holster was by far much better than I expected. Well constructed, it's obvious this guys take their business seriously, and it's been a real pleasant first online purchase experience. It arrived earlier than expected and, as I said before, the holster is flawless. The magazine pockets are a bit tight though... I can't see myself taking a magazine out to reload my 1911 in a firefight without having to struggle with it for a while, but all in all, the price-quality ratio is outstanding. I found that holster and magazine holder set to be of excellent quality. The leather is genuine, thick, and supple. My Model 1911 full size pistol fits perfectly in the holster as do 2 magazines in their holder. I had to punch an extra hole in the leather belt as it was too big for me (38" waist). No problem, and then it fit perfectly and comfortably. It comes with the leather strap tie down also that is plenty long and works also.

The brass is dinged, scratched, honestly pretty awful. Definitely one of the worst parts about the belt. It isn't bad brass though. It's tough, sits well. Wouldn't wanna have to throw those clasps on in the dark or in a rush though.The leather is of good quality, although it's made very large. I'm not even a 30 after a full meal, and I had to make several holes so it would sit on my waist.The holster itself is the best part of the purchase, knowing what I do know I'd have bought it on its own. Kept my pistol in it for a day and practiced drawing from it. It takes good care of whatever you have secured inside of it, my full sized 1911 sits perfectly.You get what you pay for

The belt is aesteticlly nice, but when it comes to actual use it has several glaring flaws.The first flaw is it's not very well stated that this belt is size XL-4XL, so even while not being is great shape, I still had to drill five new hols.Second is the magazine pouch is unclosable. I will try to saturate it in leather conditioner to loosen up, and stretch the leather, but as it is it doesn't even come close to closing. This is with standard 7 round Colt magazines.The holster isn't bad, definitely needs some time to break in, but at least it closes with my Colt 1911 government model.Setup can be a real pain, if like me you need to move the holster back, working around the brass hook is tricky. Once it's set up it's fairly comfortable, hopefully the mag pouch can be sorted out because I would really like to use this for range trips.

Ammo pouch will not hold 1911 45 caliber magazines.So what's the point other than your faulty product
