I bought this when my baby was born (almost a year ago) and assumed it would work great. Didn't test it out (dumb of me, I know) and haven't need it until right now. My son clearly has a fever (hot to the touch) and is upset. I pulled this piece of garbage out and it reads 108 degrees - I'm no thermometer but I KNOW my kid isn't that hot. I took my own temp and it read 105 (I do not have a fever) and continued to take my temperature and it bounced all over the place. I now have no clue what my son's fever is and am stuck relying on "mother's intuition" tonight. Very frustrated and disappointed for a $25 thermometer. Should've tested it out to return it as soon as it came.

The readings on this thing are all over the place. When compared with a normal thermometer this is always off by at least 2 or 3 degrees. It's not consistent enough to trust at all.

This is a pretty versatile thermometer that is very visually appealing. For starters it has two modes: Home items indicated on the display with a symbol of a house or human temperature with the symbol of head. You just hold it an inch away from skin but not touching. Press the trigger and the temperature comes up with the display illumminated in green, yellow, or red. Beeping is optional. Temperature can be selected in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. Suggestion: don't keep the batteries in as they are cheap and could leak coorroding the contacts and rendering the device useless.
