DISCLAIMER - I wrote short novel here but it’s warranted I ordered my first Ka’Chava bag through Amazon, and delivery was smooth—actually arrived earlier than expected. As someone with IBD, I was especially relieved to find no GI issues—huge win right out of the gate. I’ve tried it both with milk and ice-cold water (1:1 ratio), and both were great. I haven’t added any extras yet, though I may experiment later. The taste and texture are enjoyable as-is. Yes, it’s on the pricey side—but if you’re a regular at fast food places or coffee shops, it actually balances out or even saves money. I used to spend $15 per fast food stop, five days a week—that’s $300/month. Two bags of Ka’Chava cost me about $160 and last just as long. For me, that’s a bargain. I’m a home health wound nurse and on the road from 10 AM to 7 PM. I’d become a gas station food regular—convenient but terrible for my gut, weight, energy, and mood. Not great when you’re trying to provide care to fragile patients. Ka’Chava has helped turn that around. I started with half a serving because I usually skip breakfast (easy nausea). No nausea! The half shake did leave me a bit hungry by lunch, so I tried a full serving the next day—sipped it slowly and stayed full until 6 PM. Fantastic. Bonus tip: If you’re looking for a great shaker cup, I highly recommend the Helimix—no clumps, no shaker ball, and super easy to clean. I love my Ninja, but this cup does the job with minimal fuss. You can find them on Amazon. I also take fewer supplements now, and even my usual prescription med nausea has disappeared. The nutrient density in this shake is doing something right. Bottom line? Ka’Chava is worth it. Nutritionally, financially, and functionally—it’s been a real lifesaver for me, and I’ll be sticking with it.

Over the last few months I’ve tried a few different ‘meal replacement’ shakes. For fair comparison, I’ve used the same blender, added the same extras (see my little list below) and the same amount of ice and milk. Ka’Chava is BY FAR the tastiest and smoothest I’ve tried. Almost like a gourmet chocolate milkshake. That said, the whole purpose of these things (for me) is to do better with my nutrition and curb my appetite. Consider the add-ins below — I’m not a physician or dietician, and some of these can add a bunch of calories (so watch the amounts), but after doing a bunch of research as to what others are adding to their meal replacement smoothies, I’ve settled on these: Fresh (not frozen) organic Banana, organic unsweetened peanut butter powder, cinnamon powder, walnuts, organic beet root powder, ground flaxseed, chia seeds, cacao powder, *wee* pinch of cayenne pepper powder, organic raw honey, frozen blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries, 15 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and finally - about 20 oz of ice cubes (if you add more ice = thicker). I blend about 4 times for maximum creaminess … first with just the milk and Ka’Chava plus beet root powder. Then, as that first mix is settling in and absorbing I add everything else *except* the ice - now blend a second time. Now I add the ice cubes. I blend the third time on the Ice Crush setting, and finally a 4th blend on the Smoothie setting. I gotta tell you what I get (with any product I’ve tried) is a silky-smooth and creamy shake. The difference I’ve found is Ka’Chava is a good bit smoother, creamier, and tastier than the others. Hands down my favorite, and so I put it on an Amazon subscription. Finally, the price. Heck yes, it’s quite expensive, but there are two tricks to get around that: first, you don’t have to have it every day. Next, and this really works - instead of two ‘heaping’ scoops as recommended, just put one! Yes, you’re not getting the full nutrient density with every shake, but with the add-ins I mentioned plus any others you may decide upon, you ARE getting a decent shot of nutrition you might not otherwise get, and your appetite is curbed. And, psst … don’t tell anyone but the taste is still awesome with just one scoop! Oh, I do recommend looking up how to open the bag correctly. I didn’t and ruined the seal … so, I have to roll up the top, put a clip on it and store the bag in the fridge. Small price to pay. To your health! 😎👍

Outstanding addition to our morning rotation. The chocolate flavor is on point, mixes well with either water or milk, and leaves us filled all morning. Solid protein content without a bunch of artificial ingredients. Mixes well in a blender, but not great with just a spoon. The vanilla and chai are also good, but the chocolate is the best!

Great tasting meal replacement shake. Has everything you need. Protein, vitamins, minerals, fiber, superfoods, anti oxidants, and probiotics. It is Vegan, Non GMO, Gluten free, & Soy free. It is free of preservatives, flavorings, sweeteners, and dyes. Pricey, but worth it I think.

Don’t let reviews that say this shake tastes bad deter you— I’m convinced those users do not understand what this product is and are expecting a nutrition supplement to taste like a milkshake, which it just doesn’t, and it also shouldn’t. Vega used to be my brand of choice bc it was always the least artificial and sweet tasting to me (I find a lot of protein/nutrition shakes taste overly sweet and of fake sugar, especially plant-based ones, which I personally find very off putting). I finally decided to bite the bullet and try Ka’Chava after resisting forever, mainly because of the price… and I’ll never drink anything else. Not only is it superior in taste, but in terms of nutrition and whole body health, there is nothing else on the market that competes. Compare Ka’Chava’s ingredients to any competitor and you’ll immediately see that you get what you pay for. All whole food ingredients, nothing processed, no additives. As a recovering vegetarian (7 years vegetarian, easing back into an omnivore over the last year), the main reason I started drinking shakes was to ensure I was getting enough nutrients and protein. This is the only shake I have ever had that actually makes me full and keeps me sustained throughout the day— I definitely attribute that to the ingredients and formula. Many people don’t realize that in order for your body to absorb nutrients and vitamins properly, they need the support of the other naturally occurring vitamins, nutrients, and calories that accompany them in nature. For example, your body absorbs vitamin A more efficiently and completely if you eat a carrot as opposed to taking a vitamin A supplement with a glass of water. Because Ka’Chava derives its high nutrition content from all whole foods, your body is actually able to utilize all the nutrition you’re consuming in this shake, and that alone is why in my opinion, the price is reasonable and worth it. I started this review by saying this doesn’t taste like a milkshake, and honestly, imo it’s better. It tastes “whole” and unprocessed, and it’s delicious. I understand everyone’s palette is different but honestly, drinking a milkshake in the morning, as many reviews have suggested that they’re after, is just an unappealing thought to me. If you’re looking for something that will nourish and sustain you that also tastes good (but like what it should), then Ka’Chava is it, hands down.
