Love this including the mild taste. Is great by itself or added in stews, stir fries, dressings, etc. I wish they would update their containers, however. This cheap styrene doesn't seal well and almost always breaks. If Aldi can sell heavy-duty packaging, so can these guys.

The miso paste arrived outside its container. There is no way of returning or getting refund. **update** I contacted Amazon which felt harder and longer than it should ever take for my type of situation. They issued a replacement but it is still only getting two more stars. My experience with this particular brand of Miso is that the color and taste are quite inconsistent. You get dramatically different taste, richness and color even when expiration date is the similar. Almost like the difference between yellow/red and white miso. Still usable and delicious but be aware that if you are a "follow the recipe" cook you will experience some noticeable differences.

You get a flavorful soup but no other impurities
