Fantastic choice !!
The monitor is perfect and looks good too. Has plenty of connection points and is properly packed upon arrival in the original Dell box. Screen thickness is also good - not too thin but just right for a slightly larger screen size at 27inch. And the high refresh rate is making a big difference to my previous screen. Wholeheartedly recommended ! The Amazon delivery however was poor, left at the door (despite 'signed for' required per Amazon) and the Amazon box was damaged and dented, likely due to being too large for the original Dell monitor box inside which would have slide around inside and hard to grip. No damage luckily but clearly not best planned from Amazon side.

Excellent Screen
Gear screen. Integrates well and powers my Dell XPS Laptop. You can plug an external keyboard and mouse into the screen, so just plugging in a USB C cable gives the functionality of a powered docking station.

Excellent monitor and hub.
Excellent monitor which also acts as a hub with a video connection for laptops. The 120Hz refresh rate is a great feature. Highly recommended.

The Setup, Engineered to Stay Invisible
The Dell UltraSharp takes center stage—but the real brilliance is what you don’t see. Behind the monitor sits a GEEKOM IT15 U9, neatly mounted with a StarTech VESA bracket. One Thunderbolt cable powers both the display and the mini PC, cutting clutter and keeping the monitor arm clean. Saying goodbye to Dell’s beautiful stand wasn’t easy—but the result speaks for itself. The webcam plugs right into the monitor for a seamless connection. DisplayPort is reserved for my old laptop, though I haven’t explored all the features yet. Honestly, it’s already doing everything I need. As for the photo: If you can’t spot the tech behind it—that’s intentional. Tidy. Purposeful. Efficient. Appreciation for the setup and the shot isn’t optional... it’s expected. 🧩📸

Very nice panel, but the KVM functionality is worse than useless.
I purchased this Dell U2724DE monitor as it advertised Thunderbolt capability, integrated 2.5GbE NIC & KVM. This would allow me to simplify the wiring on my desk setup. However, I noticed, once I got the monitor, that the 2.5GbE connection was linked with the rest of the USB ports, so if you switch input to check on a desktop (via DisplayPort), the laptop would lose internet connection as the desktop gained a second ethernet connection it didn't need. This was slightly annoying, but I could just set the KVM to always be presented to the Thunderbolt, and just use an external KVM box which I already had. The major design issue that caused me to return the monitor, is the faulty logic the KVM function uses to control the Thunderbolt connection First of all, the Thunderbolt daisy chaining port _only works when the display's input is set to Thunderbolt_. If the input is DisplayPort or HDMI, it incorrectly treats the Thunderbolt daisychain port as if it was a standard, non-Thunderbolt capable USB-C port, causing Thunderbolt peripherals connected to it to be disconnected from the computer, and you get a little "Thunderbolt devices are not compatible with this PC" from Windows, or a "Connect to a Thunderbolt port on this Mac" from macOS, even though the display still remains connected to the computer via Thunderbolt. Secondly, and a smaller issue for me, but still worth pointing out, when you have the input on the display set to Thunderbolt, the KVM _must_ be passing through peripherals to the Thunderbolt device. You can only configure which computer peripherals should be connected for DisplayPort & HDMI input settings. This is a massive let down. The picture quality & refresh rate of the monitor is truly stellar, but I'd advise saving £100, and buying the non Thunderbolt capable version (Dell U2724D, without the 'E' on the end), or as I will be doing, taking my money to another brand, and buying the similarly specced Asus ProART PA278CGV, and if you really want the Thunderbolt capability, you can take the £100 you saved and buy an external dock such as the AmazonBasics B0CPT7M1Y8.

No good with a Mac
Having done a bit of research and watched countless YT vids, I settled for this 2560x1440 monitor as it would work natively with the Macbook's resolution. Or so I thought. Yes it did all sync up and there was no upscaling warning but the overall quality was disappointing and working on Final Cut the aliasing on the moving image was awful. What I would say is it had the great Dell build quality and loads of inputs which was another reason I went for it. Back to the drawing board....

DELL U2724DE is a great monitor for work, and a perfect laptop companion. U2724DE nay not have the sharpest or the fastest screen out there, but it has a lot of things done right that many monitors are missing or fail to deliver. Ferst of all, the high refresh rate panel does not compromise image quality as many gaming monitors do. This is where the IPS Black technology shines while fixing most of the annoying things sbout the LCD screens. Of course, a 2K panel is not as sharp as its 4K or 5K counterparts, but it is good enough for productivity. It is a tiny bit sharper than the 23-inch Full HD monitors you may want to replace with this U2724DE monitor. Last but not least, the full-fledget Thunderbolt 4 hub that makes DELL U2724DE so good asan extrernal screen for a modern laptop. Along with some extra USB-ports, you also get a 2.5G Ethernet port and several video outputs to daisy-chain even more monitors to your laptop by plugging them into the U2724DE. Besides being a connectivity king utilizing all the Thunderbolt 4 bandwidth, this monitor also provides 90 watt of charging power for your laptop. All through just one cable, without any docks to burden your work desk. In case this doc functionality is irrelevant or an overkill to you, you may save some money by getting a DELL U2724D instead that is basically the same monitor minus the Thunderbolt 4 dock. It is definitely on the expensive side. But if you are looking for a productivity monitor that can do some light gaming this definitely fits that need. It has all the features you could need for productivity. Thunderbolt, 90W PD, Daisy Chain, usb hub, KVM and eye care. With fluid 120hz and Variable refresh rate. Perfect size and resolution as well. One complaint would be that I can't seem to get the speakers working. But I primarily use headphones so it wasn't an issue for me. Build quality is amazing otherwise
