This was a replacement for a more expensive brand in which the on/off switch broke. This popcorn maker is just as good for the price (quite honestly, it is almost identical to the more expense brand I had) and makes good popcorn! All kernels get popped. No issues thus far.

I love popcorn. I prefer movie theater popcorn so i make my own. This is the third popcorn popper that i have tried. The first one broke after a few months. The second one was trash because it was a bad design and no matter how hard I tried, the heating coils would get the popcorn oil on it. I have to say the other two were not West Bend models. They were, however, pretty big name brands.I have always wanted the popper that looks like the ones at the movie theaters but not so bulky.I am so glad I found this one. The price was right and the size is perfect.I do purchase the butter popping oil and the popcorn salt to make sure tis exactly like the popcorn you can get at the theaters.A few weeks ago I had some guest in from out of town and I fired up my West Bend popcorn maker and they were all excited and impressed. Needless to say they were all on Amazon ordering their own West Bend popcorn maker.It is easy to use and my favorite part is- easier to clean.It makes the perfect amount of popcorn so everyone can have some and none goes to waste,I highly recommend splurging on the good popcorn butter oil and good popcorn salt and a good brand of popcorn kernels. If you want that traditional movie theater experience then splurge a little on your popcorn seed and the oil.

The media could not be loaded. I had never used a popcorn machine personally but I have seen them used so I had a general idea of how they work. The directions to put it together were lacking. That is a fairly minor negative imo. Other than putting it together, it is very easy to start using. We use 2 large scoops of kernels, 2 tbsp of oil, and 1 tsp of seasoning salt. Popcorn comes out great as long as I spread out the oil and seasoning, if not only the kernels that it was poured on will be seasoned and it will be way too much. Pops fairly quickly, only like 3-4 mins at most to make a large amount. We used this 2 times before using it to make popcorn for a neighborhood movie night. Worked so well! It’s fairly easy to clean thankfully because I was concerned about that. Overall very happy with this popcorn maker.

This west bend popcorn machine is great for movie night! Easy to assemble no instructions needed. It is best to use butter flavor coconut oil which I make myself coconut oil and imitation butter flavor. The smoke point is high on the coconut oil and it makes the popcorn super fluffy. Use a good kernel like Amish and a good popcorn salt my go to is flavacol. It comes out perfect everytime. You just put the oil and salt turn it on let it heat up then add the kernels and watch it pop away. It even has a lighted popcorn sign that gives it added movie theatre type flair. The machine and kettle are easy cleanup I would reccomend this machine to anyone looking to have that theatre experience at home on a budget.

This looks and works just like a movie theater machine. It’s worth it if you like popcorn. Easy to make and cooks it up super quick. Sort of a pain to clean. But worth it when you realize you can have movie theater popcorn at home!I bought the larger sized package of popcorn supplies because I didn’t know any better, but use it all just in two batches. I put all of the leftover popcorn in a ziplock bag and can enjoy it for days after. Reminds me of how you can buy real popcorn in a bag at the grocery store. It doesn’t go bad, just stale if not sealed back up. Tastes so good regardless. Makes the house smell great too! Makes plenty and buy the bigger supplies to make extra to bag and enjoy for a few days!

I've had 3 compact popcorn machines prior to this 4th one and I had a 1/4 size of the full size movie theater one, same ones you find at a 7-eleven stores. Being this is the 4th, this was also second the the cheapest qualities I've used. I know about sizes but this was the smallest one where you can actually get burned because not much space from kettle to the inside where your popcorn is at. Second, out of all 4 compact poppers, this had the least power, thereby resulting in hard popcorn, when compared with popping to other machines that had above 500W they performed crunchy popcorn. Keep that in mind when buying, look for quality parts, stainless steel, and at least above 600watts, spacing is important and also having 3 switches if you can find under $100. Most are above, one for warming/light, 2nd for stirring, and 3rd switch for heating the kettle. I find it hard to recommend this after having a total of 5 popcorn machines...
