I have had a number of different style hammocks over the years, but the Mayan thin cotton string hammocks are by far the best and most versatile. As I hoped, this hammock from Rada is virtually identical to ones I I bought in years past while in Merida and Playa del Carmen. The only problem is once you get in it you will never want to get out they are so comfortable. Calling this size a matrimonial is probably exaggerated. I have a true matrimonial. It is huge. You really need two people in it just so you don't get lost in all the strings. This hammock is an excellent size for one person: easy to get in and out of, and stretch out diagonally if you want to sleep. When I am not in it, I take in down, clip one end to the other with a carabiner to keep it from tangling, and hang it inside away from the sun. I have a hammock stand I bought from Amazon years ago that is still going strong so rehanging the hammock takes about 15 seconds. Shipping was lightening fast. I think I received it within two days.

These hammocks have lasted through 2 scorching Phoenix summers and are still as strong as ever!. The colors faded, and we didn't expect them to hold up after just sitting in the sun for months, but they're as comfortable and strong as ever!

It holds the weight but just seems it’s a bit thin on materials.

Over the years, we've bought a lot of hammocks in Mexico. So we have a pretty good idea of what to expect.I bought this hammock in the blue green purple style *seven years ago* when it was $59 and it still looks brand new. Have used it every year and nothing is falling apart or disintegrating. You do have to take care of it though, don't leave it out in the sun all summer for example.Most of the hammocks we have purchased in Mexico fell apart or disintegrated after a few years even taking care of them.Says for two persons. Maybe for a couple a lot thinner than me, I'd hate to try to share it because you're going to be squished together but I guess it's possible.I highly recommend this hammock, my experience is you can't go wrong.

I found this hammock to be extremely uncomfortable. I bought this hammock thinking it would be identical to one I was replacing, and which I liked. But this one was never comfortable. It seemed like the center strands of the hammock were too short, and made a ridge in the middle. I thought maybe it just needed time to break-in. But after months, still uncomfortable. I finally broke down, tossed this one in the trash, and ordered a different one.

I bought this in summer of 2022 for use on my balcony. I only have it out when I'm actually using it, and due to weather and other factors, I've used it relatively little. For the large majority of its life , my hammock has been dry, indoors, in a storage bin. The first warm sunny day this spring, I tried to set the hammock up and noticed a number of large holes in the netting, where several strands were broken. Note this is advertised for weights up to 550 pounds; I weigh ~170 or less than 1/3 of the limit so these were not broken due to excess weight. The thread near the breaks is super fragile -- when I tried to tie some ends back together, it tore easily in my hands. I can only guess that the fibers degraded from even modest UV exposure. The way this hammock is strung (thin strings, not knotted) means that any hole can quickly spread.Overall I'm disappointed, and will be replacing this with a different style of hammock which I hope will last longer.
