Listed capacity is misleading
The product description states, "8 Puzzle Sorting Trays Fit Up to 2000 Pieces Puzzles". Each of these trays will hold about 50 pieces spread out so that you can see them. If you divide up a 2000 piece puzzle, each tray would have 250 pieces - i.e.,. five deep. With a 1000 piece puzzle, the pieces would be two to three deep. I don't consider that to be useful sorting. For all the pieces of a 1000 piece puzzle to be spread out so visible would require 20 of these trays.
