Excellent but maybe too tasty?
These fat balls initially seemed to represent excellent value for money, however, they are considerably softer than the netted ones I had previously bought (from the high street). Because they are softer, they tend to break up more quickly, so when I received the box there were already several that had broken up into pieces. Additionally, they are SO popular with the birds that they are eaten REALLY quickly and so I have to replace the food two or three times a day..... Consequently, they are not as good value for money as I had hoped as the birds just eat them too quickly! (Happy birds though!!)

Very, very poor quality product
The balls are so hard even bigger birds can’t eat them. Total waste of money. When I raised this told I have to return at a cost to myself which won’t be cheap with weight . Anyone packing this product would know they’re not suitable for birds so this product is being sold not fit for purpose.

Great product, great price.
These fat balls are a real bargain. This is the second time I have bought them. I was a little wary with my first purchase because of some negative reviews regarding broken balls and nets. However my first purchase put those worries to rest. I counted them and there was more than 150 balls, about 6 were broken all the rest were perfect, and there were no nets. The broken pieces went on the bird table and the rest went in a regular fall ball feeder, usually one a day for my wild birds so they lasted me 5 months! My second order arrived this morning. Just one broken ball this time!I'd recommend these to anyone. The birds love them, they are clean to handle, and such great value for money. The ball size is roughly 2 inches.

No Cause For Concern With Quality
After reading some reviews regarding this product I was a little concerned before I had the product delivered . The product did get delivered before the scheduled day and although it was packed in a cardboard box it was a bit of a surprise that l found a minimal amount of damaged fat balls in my order . The product itself seems to tick all the right box's with the birds in my garden for the second time in two days I have had to fill my 3 fat ball feeders up this evening and this morning I had a good 10 minutes watching a family of baby goldfinches being fed on these fat balls and sunflower hearts by both parents .In my view a product that is well worth it's money and it will save me a great deal of cash by buying in bulk without compromising on the attractions to the bird life in my garden .

Good value? .... not so sure but the Company reaction was excellent.
We normally get our suet fat balls from the RSPB. Slightly more expensive I know but it terms of overall diameter they are certainly bigger and heavier. I reckon that from them each ball weighs in at approx 90-95g's. These fat balls are very small. I would guess, and it is a guess, that these fat balls weigh about 75-80g's per ball. Take that together with the wastage factor, that is to say the number of crushed suet balls at the base of the very primitive cardboard delivery box that they are packaged in, and it works out certainly more expensive that perhaps another brand sold here on Amazon, or indeed from the RSPB, at around 17p per ball. For the price we paid it does not take a genius to work out that these smaller fat balls work out at exactly 16p per fat ball, incl p+p, and assuming that there are indeed 150 fat balls in the box, given that they all appear to be all thrown in there with a rather excessive amount of fat ball crumbs together with crushed balls in the bottom of the box .... which I assume is from initial packaging and then from the parcel postage factor. The consistancy of these fat balls appears stale. Just like stale dry cake which crumbles to the touch. Not that impressed but they are getting eaten .... but rather to quickly as they are very dry for 'fat' suet balls. Anyway cheap and cheerful springs to mind as it does not take much effort for the birds to split these fat balls with the excess falling to the ground from our hanging feeders rather to freely. I suspect that these fat balls will need replacing very quickly. We shall stick with the heavier and more 'solid fat balls' in future for the small amount of additional cost involved. The free 'fat ball feeder' is a gimmick and as such is rubbish. IMHO of coarse.UPDATE. Since writing this review, the Company concerned Messrs Twootz, has contacted me several times with very courteous emails and has re-issued me with a completely new package of 150 fat balls FOC. There were, apparently, various reasons for my/their original order being damaged and that has now be corrected at their end, so they inform me. I stick by my original review but would add that given that Messrs Twootz rectified this problems within hours of writing my comments, I think that they are to be congratulated. The quality and condition of my new parcel of fat balls (which are still somewhat dry) being entirely different to that which I had originally received. Had I written my review based on the condition and quality of this new fat ball delivery, then I would have given that a 4* rating. I thank them for replacing their fat balls, a fact which I had not sought and which makes their unrequested gesture even more impressive.
