wonderful
This film gives the cliff notes of C. S. Lewis amazing book. I only read part of the book and was blown away, This film explains the book in such a way that the lay person can easily understand. It also whets your appetite for wanting more.

When debating the "doorknockers" like JW's and LDS bikers
As a Lutheran student since Kindergarten through college, the apologetics aspect of finally finding out why we believe what we believe has always been fascinating. When debating the "doorknockers" like JW's and LDS bikers, I embarked on the apologetics line of thinking so finding out what turned an atheist into a believer was likewise interesting. I appreciated Lewis' melding of the philosophical & spiritual reasoning which lead him to his conclusions. I would recommend this film as an introduction to his theological works. But reading his books--as I remember--offered a much better read then reflect pace. The Screwtape Letters was a more entertaining (but substantive) while Mere Christianity is a scholarly search and discover reasoning exercise in why the Christian faith makes sense ultimately.

This is the best no holds bared video on basic (mere) Christianity
This is the best no holds bared video on basic (mere) Christianity. It keeps the viewers attention through-out the presentation and answers many questions for those who are searching. I have been a student of scripture for over 20 years and some of the ways that Lewis opens the truths of scriptures even blew my mind. I highly recommend it to anyone who has questions.

Watch it.
I'm not real familiar with C.S. Lewis or his writings, but I found this documentary to be very interesting and a good representation of the Christian faith. I'm not a big reader but I find myself desiring to read "mere Christianity" to see if I might be able to recommend it to others that they might either become believers, or might grow in their faith if they are already believers.

Video follows Mere Christianity well; However. Christ in us, us in Christ never mentioned. Why?
I liked the review of C. S. Lewis's book presented in the video. It seems to follow Lewis's thought process quite well. The presence of Christ in us and us in Christ, the intimacy of Christ to a believer, the complete trust of a believer in Christ, and the faithfulness of Christ toward believers are the blessings that Christianity is rooted in and are established forever in every believer. These topics were entirely missing in this video. The video seems to concentrate on the importance of right and wrong, breaking the law, and guilt/punishment (items found in Old Testament Jewish law, ceremonies, and punishment) rather than the New Testament truth of love, intimacy, and spiritual presence so fully presented in the gospel of John. I'm sorry that Lewis didn't understand or write about the presence of Christ in each of us and the assured hope of everlasting oneness forever in Him. We receive not only Christ himself, but all that Christ is and has. We are one with Him. We should not get the Law of the Old Testament interfere with our understanding of the grace of the New. This produces a cloud over truth often preached in the more conservative churches of our day. We and Christ are one, just as Christ and the Father are one.

This movie is a great "primer" for the book itself :-)
The book is incredible and I think this movie is a great primer for it - but not a replacement for reading it - but it wasn't meant to be either.

Mere Christianity
I wanted to watch this video to learn about Mere Christianity. C.S. Lewis is a very honest writer. He knows about a religious when he was changed from atheist to Christian. He wanted us to believe in Jesus Christ. He's very smart. He can't fool readers. I don't think some deaf and hearing readers would understand him. They never read all of his books but I know someone read The Screwtape Letters book. Wonderful documentary.

Worst acting of all time
Worst acting of all time. Like, ever. Don't mistake how bad the acting will be.However.The theologists and the writing otherwise capture Mere Christianity extremely well. I enjoyed every second of this since I wasn't watching it for the acting.
