EVH 5150 III EL34 Micro Stack

I bought the amp because we were having a bunch of family come to visit and I know my nephew plays. I didn’t want him to have any excuse for not playing. He commented that it was pretty awesome for its size.

Great tone and volume from such a small amp. I like being able to pack it around easily to play without moving my whole rig.

Huge Van Halen fan this was way more quality than I thought

Don’t order this with the expectation that you’ll be getting cranked Plexi tones and Van Halen squeals. However, it probably is one of the best “microstacks” available on the market. That being said, like all other microstacks, it’s not much more than a novelty unless you’re *only* buying it for the portability and the convenience of it. If that’s the case, then knock yourself out, it’s a great little amp for what it is. Also, it should be noted that there’s something goofy going on with the distortion, I can’t really figure out what the deal is but it seems to be the case on all of them; I returned one and got a new one for this reason and the problem was present on both: when cranking the gain knob all the way up some kind of weird fuzziness starts emerging where it sounds like something’s broken. It gets like saturated in this weird kind of digital mud to the point where the sounds coming out of the thing are simply incomprehensible (and quite comical). But, to the best of my knowledge, this is only when the gain is all the way up and isn’t much of an inconvenience.

I bought this for my roommate he really loves it has great sound.

Ok let’s be honest here. I am a big fan of EVH and his Guitars and Amps. I purchased this micro amp primarily as a display to go with the EVH 3 Pack Guitar collectors edition. Also available is a none working display as well . For a few dollars more you get a micro amp tat actually works .. lolol. Or does it ? Well yes it will come on and you can play your guitar through it but , after a few mins you realize that it’s not anything that you would ever try to use for playing even in your bedroom . Just a horrible attempt to try and duplicate the 5150 III. clean or overdriven . 🤔 but like I stayed in the beginning I bought it primarily as a mini display to go with the EVH guitars, and a mini bass and drum set , the amp being playable would have been a bonus , if it had a somewhat tolerable sound . I Thought it would be a cool addition to go in my studio lounge area. So to be fare I got a nice looking display Amp that will also let you make Some noise if your desperate to play through an amp . But don’t get to excited about the sound . Looks Great 😎 though .
