These silicone inserts for my Dutch oven have completely changed the way I bake sourdough! They make lifting the dough so much easier without any sticking, which was always a struggle for me before. I could not be more happy with this. Works great, protects dutch oven, prevents boule bottom from burning, and cleans like a dream. I recommend orienting the sides perpendicular to the handles on your baking vessel so they do not overlap with your handles, as shown in photograph here. Also, be sure to use hand protection when handling straight out of the hot oven, the silicone gets hot!

Ours discolored a bit because of this. As such, it's essential to adjust your baking method accordingly or ensure that the oven temperature is safely within the silicone's heat-resistant range.Despite this concern, the silicone bread sling does offer good value and functionality, making it a worthwhile investment for avid bakers who are looking for an easier way to handle bread dough. Just keep the temperature limitation in mind to ensure a safe and successful baking experience. This fits most Dutch ovens.
