We bought this as a temporary mattress as we wait for our usual one to ship in our cross country move. It’s so comfy we’ve joked about not even needing the other one. We didn’t expect to love it so much but it’s great — would recommend this if you need something to sleep on for guests, temporary, or even if you are considering a floor mattress in general.

So, I've now purchased and tried every futon mattress that zonli makes. The 2.5 inch one WITHOUT the removable cover is my favorite by far. Zonli advertises their "wheat grass" pattern one with a removable washable cover as somehow being superior. Honestly, the one with the removable cover is the firmest futon I've slept on and basically no different from a mattress topper. The "wheat" pattern one is also basically impossible to fold up which kind of defeats the purpose of owning a futon. I've also tried the 4 inch one. The 4 inch is comfortable but basically no different from owning any other bed in a box from Amazon. My recommendation is to purchase the 2.5 inch without the removable cover in a twin size. If you put 2 twins side by side, you'll have a king size bed that's easier to move and store. If you need something thicker, the best thing to do is just to double up. Buy 2 and stack them on top of each other. Zonli makes removable covers that easily zip over the shikibuton style futons. You do have to buy them separately but, it's worth it. Or, you can simply use a duvet cover. Hope this advise helps.

I had gone to Japan and loved the futon there, thought I would get this for a guest opinion and slept on it for a week. Terribly uncomfortable and not at all like a traditional futon. There is a thin cotton pad and a very thin 2 in foam layer. It would have been better value to just get a mattress topper or a trifold foam mattress from Walmart. Packing was very strong and effective. I got the tanami mats too and they're annoying and slide around, I could feel the ridges through the futon. Better than the floor but I don't think the value for the money is worth it.

It was good for a few uses, however the storage bag provided is very flimsy. The zipper broke and it was not sewn properly (there were holes at the seams). It's very difficult to put back into the thin storage bag provided. If you intend to leave this out and not store, then it may like the product more than me.

We wanted a cute little day bed mattress to make a little quiet corner in our nursery. Our little girl loves to roll around on our bed and other surfaces that are soft and cozy. I was looking at the Urban Outfitters Rohini Day Bed cushion, but it came out to over $200 and we didn’t want to spend that much. I started looking on Amazon and agonized over what style and model to go with. I decided on this one because the overall reviews were great, the price was fair, and I figured if it wasn’t thick enough I could buy a second one to stack or layer with blankets. My overall concern was that this was going in a room that had hard wood floors, so I needed it to be thick enough to not feel the hardness of the floor. We think this mattress is perfect! On day one my husband was sitting in the corner for a long time just hanging out in the nursery with our girl. He said it was very comfy! Now my daughter loves to cuddle with us on it while we read books, when she’s having a tantrum and needs a quiet place, or just to play with her plushies. We love it!

Updated review: Not 80”. Measures only to 72”. I am updating this review bc the customer service is very good and very responsive. I was unhappy that the item’s length measurement was off by 8”. The customer service team reached out and rectified the issue. Thank you! The quality of the mat is quite durable and the mattress cover is easy to remove and clean. Most of my mats are made from all natural materials. This one has memory foam inside which makes for a much lighter weight mat. Should anything get damaged over the years, you can replace the memory foam instead of getting a whole new mat. Overall, it’s a good product with much versatility! And the customer service is good!

It’s pretty and comfortable enough for my kids, but it isn’t a standard twin size.
