It’s worth the money
Last year I decided to buy a “cheap” trolling motor with good reviews. I quickly learned my lesson. It fell apart within a year and left me stranded on the lake. I replaced it the next day with the MinnKota Traxxis 80 and am so glad I did. It is clearly better built, the variable speed control is a must for fishing, the battery gauge is handy, as is the tilt control. Proud to own this American made product.

Quiet, more power than expected, 24V batteries are not cheap.
We're very pleased with this motor. It is quiet and more powerful than we expected for our river boat with two people to push, one of whom is very large. Instead of paying for an expensive 24V battery, we linked two 12V lithium batteries in tandem, with gave us 4 times more charge on the water. Highly recommended.
