Terrible pricing and no choice of flavours
Shockingly overpriced. Not clear on flavours and flavour choices.

Uber expensive unjustifiable
Great sardines very traditionally produced but an absolute rip off price. Why pay through the nose on Amazon when you can go to a Portuguese delicatessen and buy these for half the price??????????

Be warned, if you eat these sardines, you will not eat any other brand, and these are not cheap. For example, other cheap brands are about $1 per can. These are north of $5 per can, and I've seen it up to $10 per can. If you subscribe, you can get them just under $4 per can, but that's still way more than the standard brands. The sardines themselves are big and actually are packed tight in the can. Thus the ratio of meat to oil is very high compared to other brands, making the value a bit better for the money. For example Wild Planet sardines are small, and are not packed to the extent that the Nuri sardines are. Thus there is significantly more oil, which weight-wise is almost as much as the sardines themselves. I would estimate that the amount of sardines in a Nuri tin is almost double than a cheaper brand. The fish itself is top notch. Cooked perfectly; firm, and not overly fishy. Compared to other brands, there are less internal organs, which can be a minus or plus, depending if you like that or not. There are some nutrients in the organs that might be missing, but I think it's a good balance. The combination of spices along with the sardines themselves infuse the olive oil with a warm and rich combination of spice and umami. The clove and laurel give an additional depth of flavor. Definitely do not throw the oil out...it's arguably the best part of the experience, especially if you eat this with a salad, crackers, or rice. There is a small chili pepper in there, but it is only mildly spicy and edible, along with a slice of cucumber and carrot. The only inedible thing in the can is the clove. The health benefits are off the charts as well. Sardines provide protein, but have many more nutrients than that. The bones provide a lot of calcium, and the omega-3 content (the good omega fat) is really high. Along with olive oil, which has a whole host of benefits as well, your blood work after eating this a while (maybe 2-3 times a week) will amaze your doctor. After having Nuri sardines, I'm totally ruined for other sardines. I tried eating another brand, and I literally gagged. I might as well be eating cat food than other brands of sardines. Don't say that you weren't warned.

I have no idea why I bought these. now I have to eat them. But they are pretty good compared to other kinds. the olive oil and content is good. High protein, health snack for when you're hungry. Appearance is a nice package. Surprisingly, one of my favorite canned fish. The spicy is so good

This sardines are some of best I had . I mean is first class starting inside the can with the clean finish . Sardines itself are a monster how big they are, texture is firm and mild buttery, you actually feel a soft perfect texture . The oil content is perfect with all the veggies , a tasty olive oil by the way with a less then mild spiced flavor. Also the nutritional area have a big difference if you compare both brands. This are more expensive than wild planet which I also eat, but after tasting this sardines I think is worth every pennie if you are into eating prime sardines for adding to a healthy diet routine like the one I have . can compare the difference in the pictures wild planet is processed in Thailand and Nuri Portugal origin and the size, texture and flavor in my opinion is far better then the WP. thanks . P.S the nutritional content on the page is not accurate to the original package from Portugal .
