This is for the OEM Western Digital 256G bare drive in bubble wrap. Forget Amazon's compatibility list which is worthless. Just make sure your PC accepts "PCI-e GEN 4X4 NVME SSD Internal Solid State Drive 80mm 2280 Form Factor" drives. Mine was brand new with less than 1 hour on it. These are likely system pulls so some may have a few hours on them. Mine boots in 10 seconds instead of 5 minutes like my old drive. You may not need a screw, bracket, or adapter for a laptop which originally had an SSD drive as an option. My 2019 HP had an old hybrid SATA rotating disk but had the screw for a SSD drive it didn't come with. It was just a matter of taking out the old drive, removing a screw, plugging this drive into a different port, and putting the screw back in to hold this SSD in place. Make sure you have a rescue CD or flash drive to boot from and good backups to restore from.

I needed something to install Windows To Go on mostley for QA testing purposes. I put it in an ICYBOX USB-C and it works great. And you can't beat the price. No brainer really.

Great price for a brand name NVMe, but I can’t find anywhere where it says it is used or refurbished. Every single one needed to be reformatted.I will continue to reorder as long as the price stays good.

This is a pre-owned like new WD NVME. The cloning software Acronis is downloadable from their website and works free with any WD hard drive. The problem was...I clone my SSD and it said successful. I then wiped my original hard drive and the new one that was clone did not work. I should've transferred all my files on a flash drive like I always have did in the past. This WD NVME was used about 12 hours which is surprising low according to crystal disk info. It had 100% health and will last for the remainder of this computer. The Dell Optiplex computer had a manufacture date of 2019. It has i3 processor at 3.60 GHz and 8 gb ram. The read and write speed is about 1200 to 1500 mb/s which is still a whole lot better than a SSD at about 400-500 mb/s. The old school big hard drive is at about 100 mb/s to give you an idea. This WD NVME should go up to 5000 to 7000 mb/s if your motherboard supports that speed, in my case, it didn't.

Spent hours frustrated not being able to clone this computer for a job. Thinking there was an issue with the clone I tried installing Windows fresh but errors halfway through or at the final boot.Wasted time to save a buck. Wish they had tested this more thoroughly before selling.

Excellent product.

First the good. As a boot drive it’s the fastest OEM M.2 I have tested that boots to windows in 13 sec. The price is really good to. My only gripe is crystel disk info said it had 12 power on hours and several hundred GB in write cycles when the description said it was new. It was clearly used or tested for some time and should have been listed as used. As for thermals as long as you don’t game on it the temps are fine but if you intend on pushing it a heatsink would be recommended.
