Steinberger spirit pro deluxe from GAK
Due to arrive on 2-5 Dec 2018......actually arrived 2 days before the earliest advertised.....excellent service from GAK cannot commend high enough.Have owned 2 of these type of guitars previously (although these were made by Hohner) so I knew what to expect. This Guitar was bought so that I could practice whilst sat in an arm chair.....awkward with a strat sized guitar unless you sit on the edge....so perfect for this.......have seen some comments regarding the pickups, but let’s be fair here....I paid £349 for this Guitar and they are fine.....I’m playing this in my front room through a Yamaha THR so not really that bothered by pickups......my other guitars cost up to 2.5K and of course they sound better. This Guitar also came with a gig bag which I wasn’t expecting so another bonus.Thoroughly recommend GAK and in fact the guitar.

Good guitar but why won't they deliver to Spain?
I had one of these a couple of years ago so I knew what I was getting, I travel a lot and work away from home and this guitar is ideal for taking on the road with you. It comes with a decent enough gig bag and fits easily into an overhead bin on an aircraft. Its a good quality instrument and is definitely worth the money ( I paid 290 ) The double ball system works well, however make sure you buy plenty of replacements as they are not easy to get hold of. The supplier ( Musik Produktiv GmbH ) I bought mine from were situated in Germany but would not deliver to Spain so I had to have it sent to a friend in UK instead, why?

Surprising
I had a Hohner version I always regretted selling many years ago so I bought the red quilt top Spirit Deluxe on a whim. I was quite surprised how nice it was to play, particularly once the pickups were lowered a touch, i get great sounds out of it. Fretwork wasn't great, i gave mine a full fret level, crown and polish as there were high and low frets everywhere. This Steiny now feels like a much more high end guitar. I have a large collection of guitars, some quite expensive, but this one gets played a lot and that speaks volumes to me.

Great-looking guitar, excellent value for money.
This has quickly become my go-to pick-up-and-play guitar. It's light and easy to manoeuvre, and can be played in smaller spaces than a standard sized guitar, so it's no hassle to use when inspiration strikes. It's good value for money. Everything is well-finished and the quality is good. The HSH pickup arrangement is versatile, and the 5-way pickup selector gives access to a good range of tones. Output from the two humbuckers is not super-high, but they are quite capable, particularly when paired with a decent amp. The trem system is particularly good. This guitar stays in tune very well, partly because of Steinberger's "double ball" strings and 40:1 tuners, and partly because of the zero-fret arrangement instead of a traditional nut. It's capable of very impressive sustain for a guitar in this price range. The 14" radius fretboard is flatter than most guitars, and it's very easy to play. Notes can be fretted with relatively little pressure, and the neck is pretty fast.It also looks great. I had wanted a Steinberger since the 80s, and the Spirit range has made them more affordable than the esoteric graphite/carbon-fibre instruments.Overall, I highly recommend this guitar.
