OtterBox Samsung Galaxy S9+ Defender Series Case - BLACK, rugged & durable, with port protection, includes holster clip kickstand

Probably the best case you can buy for the S9+. These phones are great, but let's face it--if you drop it and need a screen replacement it's big $$. Why would anyone risk a $250+ screen replacement charge when you can buy a high quality case like the Otterbox Defender? Yes, it's a little more bulky than other cases, but, the level of protection is unparalleled. The two part hard plastic case provides serious protection, while the rubber slip-on outer cover provides both shock absorption and a grippy surface to hold onto so you don't drop it.... Another added bonus is that if you use a magnetic car mount, you can put the metal plate on the inside of the case and still have it work because of the space between the hard plastic shell and the rubber outer casing. I've tried several other "rugged" cases for my S9+, and on all of those I had to stick the metal plate on the outside of the case in order to get the magnetic mount to work. Not sure why people buy big phones/phablets like the Note and S9+, then complain about them being "too bulky" when they put a case on. I like big phones because I have big hands, and the added bulk of the Defender case is minimal, helps me hang on to the phone with the grippy rubber outer cover, and provides serious protection for the phone. The rubber port duct covers are an added bonus and are easy to use, and the buttons are all super responsive. Some people have complained that this version doesn't come with a built-in screen protector, but I'm really glad it doesn't because the built-in screen protectors are always made of plastic that scratched easily and seriously decreases touch screen sensitivity. I also have a SUP Unicorn Pro, and while it's a nice protective case, the touch screen sensitivity is terrible, and after just a few weeks use the plastic screen protector is already scratched. I wound up getting a Tech Matte glass screen protector (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079YC1TRH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it works GREAT with the Defender case--fits like a glove! One downside to this case is that if you are a frequent SIM card/Memory card swapper, I would not recommend this case as it is a bit of a pain to take the case apart to access the SIM/memory card slot, though it's not a huge deal. Bottom line: the Otterbox Defender case is the best case out there in terms of phone protection, grippy surface, works great with glass screen protectors, and has a lifetime warranty. I got mine at a nice discounted price through Amazon Warehouse, and it's easily the best case I've ever used!

Bought this case for my Samsung S9+. Although my brother recommended a different brand that he used bc of a thinner case, I don't mind my case being a little bulky. I love the feel and grip of this product and know that quality is great from this brand from previous experience with another case I used for my Samsung S5. Although I dropped my S5 numerous times over the four years I owned it, I'm so thankful the glass screen didn't break because of the Otterbox case. However, the bottom plastic of my Otterbox case did break from the high impact of dropping the phone but no damage to the phone glass screen itself. My S5 was in such a good condition that I was able to trade it in for $100 preorder promo vaule for the new Samsung S9+ when it came out in March. So I'm sticking with Otterbox, but this time with the Defender Series because of its double layers protection. Also, I love the color choice for my phone...Purple Nebula looks great!

Otterbox is the only thing I use to protect my phone. There cases are soo durable and strong Having kids especially lititle ones you know there bound to get a hold of your phone at some point! However with this case you can take some ease as this case withstands falls, accidental drops while protecting the phone from scuffs and scrapes. Now this case in general is not a fully enclosed one so it does not have a screen protector, however I prefer it over those as I can clean my screen better. If you turn your phone over with screen down while having case on the screen doesnt touch the surface as the case is built to still protect screen just without the screen protector built in. I'd say if your around water alot I'd get the fully enclosed case. Oh yeah this case fit my Samsung S 9+ just right, will have to mention that the plum/ purple color is a very popular choice for people as I've seen the exact same case while out shopping lol

I hesitated in buying this case because I saw cheaper options that seemed to offer just as much or more protection. I chose to buy the Unicorn Beetle Sup case with a built in screen protector after I read so many reviews with people who claimed that the Sup Case was better and cheaper than the Otterbox Defender since this model does not have a built in screen protector. After recieving the Sup case it already had a deep scratch on the screen protector. The screen protector on that case did a disservice to this phones beautiful OLED display. The screen protector in that case scratched so easily ! Also people could not hear me well on speaker phone with that case on my phone. I then bought this case and I am extremely happy with this case and wish I had not been cheap and just bought this one to begin with. I have had an otterbox on my iPhone 5 and my iphone 6 and now my Samsung Galaxy as well. I have never had an issue with any of these cases and even the ones without screen protection offer alot of protection for the phone. The case does have a raised edge on the top and bottom that comes out from the screen to help protect from drops. I am still trying to find a glass screen protecror that is quality enough to pair with this case. The first screen protector I put on came off the phone while I was sleeping and was underneath me in my bed cracked when I woke up. Many will say you do not need to have a screen protector with this case on the phone and that might be true but I am over protective with my phones. With the prices of smart phones these days I don't think you can have too much protection! Another pro is that the case feels very grippy in your hands. I drop my phone pretty often and have not dropped it as of yet with this case on. I also feel as though thr case is not overly bulky at all compared to the defender case that I had on my iphone 5s. I feel that it adds just the right amount of rugged protection while keeping the phone slim. There are also rubber stoppers for the ports that keep dust out. IMPORTANT!!!! PLEASE read the instructions before installing this case and don't be an idiot like some others on here that have left bad reviews. Do not just try to open the box and shove your brand new $900 phone into the case while damaging and scuffing the sides of the phone. The case is Intended to be taken apart and installed a certain way piece by piece not just thrown on like any old case. The case does fit the phone perfectly and is not at all difficult to get on or off if you do it properly.

I've owned this case for a year and a half and the only reason why I don't use it anymore is because I upgraded to an S10. This phone case is very protective and sturdy. It's undoubtedly saved my phone countless times from falls since my S9+ doesn't have a single scratch or crack on the back glass or sides. It doesn't add too much extra width/height/thickness to the phone, either, which is a plus since the S9+ is already a large phone. The outer layer feels nice in the hand and is grippy so it won't slide on surfaces. The reason why I didn't rate this five stars though is because the top part of the inner, hard plastic shell broke recently (over the past couple of weeks), as seen in the photos, meaning that the case itself only lasted one and a half years, which may or may not be an issue for you. The point of failure was the piece of plastic next to the headphone jack opening, which then weakened the bottom so that the entire bottom portion of the plastic broke off. Furthermore, almost all of the tabs that connect the top and bottom of the plastic covers have snapped off. I wouldn't say I took the phone out of its case excessively, only around once a month when I would take out the microSD card to back it up, so this again may or may not be an issue for you since the outer rubber layer holds everything together still. Otherwise, it's held up well over the past year and a half.

3 parts, perfect fit, perfect function, the only case you need-- 5 stars! This is the 3rd case I have bought for my new galaxy s9+ phone, and the only fully functional case in the lot. I tried a Lanhiem waterproof case (power plug could not fit into the Lanheim case and the case was irremovable). Then I tried a lifeproof case (but it rendered the buttons on the screen difficult to press or altogether unresponsive). Finally the Otterbox fits like a charm, but you must watch instructions first, because there are 3 pieces to disassemble and reassemble around your phone. Do not try to force your phone into the otterbox, as it is upon arrival, or you might damage your phone. This is a very durable and larger than average case, perfect for active lifestyles that can be hazardous to fragile electronics. It is the perfect fit for an outdoor backpacking/kayaking/cycling enthusiasts like myself, so I am very very happy with this case, and I expect you will be too.
